Memo reveals business chiefs begged Ministers to ‘go easy’ in EU talks

The CBI is saying one thing in private and another in public

November 3, 2015, By Steve Hawkes, Deputy Political Editor

Business chiefs are being accused of outright hypocrisy after an explosive memo revealed they are begging Ministers to ‘go easy’ in EU renegotiation talks.

Top secret minutes from a CBI committee reveal the lobby group’s ex-president Sir Michael Rake believes it’s vital Britain doesn’t “overplay our hand” with Brussels.

And they reveal the CBI is stepping up its work on a pro-EU campaign – as “none of the other alternatives offer more benefits than full EU membership”.

I assume everyone on this site know of the UK EU in/out Referendum, and I noted within a number of threads the lack of understanding of what is happening in UK with regard this vote. This is understandable, because most in UK do not know what to believe either.

From now until day of Referendum you will probably hear a lot on this subject, and within this there will be a lot of propaganda. The UK is being hit hard with propaganda in an attempt to avert a Brexit. Note this was expected, as they did the same in 1975 when the British people were given a referendum on whether or not they wanted to remain in the EEC (Common Market), which is now the EU. Note I said the people were given a referendum in 1975 on whether they wanted to REMAIN, as the government of the day had already joined the Common Market years before. Also note there was a lot of propaganda back then also plus those who were opposed did not possess the funding on in camp. However, the British people have something today that they did not have in 1975. The internet.

With regard the article, it should be noted that the CBI is supposed to represent British businesses. However, it is funded by EU, and all data collected by them is sent to EU. Hence, the reason the CBI is making headlines, though the National newspapers are way behind, as I and others like me knew this years ago.

I am an anti EU activist, though largely retired from that role. Been at it since 1997, and had lost count of number of hours spent researching files directly from EU and our Parliament to inform the British people of what was happening. I promoted many MPs and MEPs, including Farage for UKIP, at which time many reading my posts could not believe what was happening, and questioned why none of what I showed was making headlines in UK. Times have changed, and there is an army, many more qualified than I, trying to undo the damage of present and past governments. No government has a right to cede sovereignty in whole of part without the consent of the people.

We finally got our referendum, and hopefully will achieve of regaining control of our country and Parliament. That is the bottom lne.
