It's really now just a matter of time. Voters have repeatedly stated a desire to remain in the Eurozone but the election results may force the issue as bailout funds may not be released with so much uncertainty. There is widespread anger across Greece to harsh measures imposed by the government in return for international bailouts.
Earlier, exit polls put Syriza - which opposes the government's austerity measures - in second place, narrowly ahead of Pasok.
The neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party could enter parliament for the first time if the exit poll prediction of it winning 6.5 -7.5% of the vote comes to fruition.
Predictions for the next 11 months regarding Greece and the Eurozone just got a whole lot more uncertain. The ability of any new government to carry on with the austerity programme will be crucial for Greece's continued access to bailout funds from the EU, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund - the so-called Troika.
Any political instability may prompt fresh questions over the country's place in the eurozone.
Sorry, but I'm not sure you'll understand. Live Skai online TV from Greece.
Like it matters. Greek future is decided in Brussels.

this is Greece in 5 years....

I don't see a coalition forming by anyone. Not only are the splits left and right, but split again on the bailout and austerity demands. Papaoulias, the president will probably wind up appointing the technocrat and current prime minister Papademos until new elections can be held. I thought it was a mistake to hold the elections so early in the first place and instead leave Papademos in power until the fall.

Was to be expected.. a protest vote if anything. Not a big shocker.. not like they will have anything to say.
Every country has their radicals.. some times it is in a party for themselves.. Front National, Peoples Party and so on.. other times they are hidden inside the mainstream parties.. GOP, British Conservatives, Spanish Conservatives.. It is the latter that are the most dangerous.. the enemy within.

You are not only whingy, but a paranoid pom to boot. Your beloved socialists and Greece's beloved Andreas Papandreou are why Greece is in this mess anyway. That's why PASOK went from 45% in 2009 to 15% yesterday. Yeah, I know, Greece would have a surplus if it weren't for tax evasion.![]()
