Understand that the Antarctic has seen temperature reductions in recent years and that the floating bits of ice around Antarctica are always going to be unstable.

The sea ice, which is permanent i.e. it stays all year, extends hundreds of miles beyond most of the coast of Antarctica. Melting is not the cause of floating ice wandering off.

The anti-science and anti-fact types just on here do do the job of making the differences we(fact embracing ones) all have look a lot smaller than than they looked until the "How do you know that the ice is millions of years old!!??" stuff came along.

Once again, note that this explanation is the opposite of NASAs.

It is also completely unreferenced.

As you can see from the Southern Hemisphere Sea Ice Extent With Anomaly map above, there are currently two large fingers of anomalous Sea Ice protruding out in the Weddell Sea. This is the same Weddell Sea that in 2012 it was claimed that;
“Warm ocean currents are projected to melt the Filchner-Ronne Ice Shelf in the Weddell Sea area of Antarctica opening instabilities in the West Antarctic Ice sheet (WAIS) which will impact global sea level rise. Climate change is waking up the sleeping giant of Antarctica.

Just providing nourishment on which thread visitors can feed. Antarctica was the current subtopic so it seemed like a good fit. Snow day here in northern Virginia.:peace

I compare these alarmists to 911 conspiracy theorist. no matter how much evidence you show them or how much evidence you show that proves that the IPCC is not only wrong but making stuff up as it goes along to force it's political agenda they ignore it.

The last ice age wasn't caused by cavemen and the SUV's and the last warming period wasn't cause by knights and their log burning stoves. The fact is climate changes constantly and there are several major links that are now coming to light. One being that the pacific current has as huge impact on climate and that solar forcing plays a bigger role than what the IPCC would lead you to believe.

Instead they put all their focus into 1 element. now some facts about that 1 element.

1. I composes <1% of our atmosphere.
2. In a given year man only produces 3-5% of the total co2 released (stat by the IPCC)
3. of all greenhouse gases CO2 only accounts for <3% with water vapor being 97%.
4. only 3 of their 300+ models have the correct calculations that match the exact warming/cooling trends. this tells me they are either using really flawed models or their data is complete trash.
