Re: Shock Tactics in Teen Drunk Driving Program, Cruel or Appropriate Hoax?

I fear that kids will see this as more lies from the establishment. Maybe if this was a sure-fire way to eliminate drunk driving it would be justified. But it's not. Causing people emotional distress isn't going to work. In fact, it will probably cause kids to mistrust the police more than they already do.

Showing pictures of accidents and their victims is as good a tool as this without the fraudulent presentation causing undue emotional trauma.

Perhaps a good instance of why schools may want to lay back on their attempts at "educating" children (on matters not relating to education).

it's a widely accepted fact that all high school guidance counselors are retarded.

If they were students who had been caught/arrested for a DUI I'd support it, but not just a normal group of students, many of which would never drive drunk or break the law in such a fashion.

Then again, I'd say we should just go out and shoot people who drive drunk. I have no sympathy for them, and they'd be better off killed under the "Ounce of Prevention" clause.

That would be very fitting.
But i pity whoever does it. The retaliation could range anywhere from harassment to arrest to death.

I know for a fact that a severe accident involving 3 of my friends dramatically changed my out look on life.
Some of these teenagers will be scarred for life over this incident.
I hope that there is a way to prosecute the adults involved in this.

Should we also shoot those who drive sleep deprived?

Can the survival of the species really afford to eliminate all teenagers?

Teens today have it made. Hell, what I wouldn't give to have Bluetooth on a cell phone at 16. Come to think of it, what I wouldn't give to just have a cell phone at 16...
