So McCain rallies behind being a maverick with Palin against the good ol boys of Washington and that HE has the right decision and experienced judgment so as to make the wrongs right.
Yet for 20 years on the commerce committee he has been at least partially responsible for the way things have ended up - with Sen. Gramm he was the advocate and remains so for deregulation.
I don't know how many people here can recall about the
Keating Five or Keating and Lincoln saving's and loans.
Savings and loans; jump to 2008, junk mortgages because of horrible lending practices that would've otherwise been regulated had Gramm and co (McCain included) not gotten their ways.
McCain says that he's a record of going against the good ol boys, but no matter how I look at it - how could he when he himself is one of the very good ol boys that brought about much of the financial crisis that we have today?
So if we really want to look at just what kind of "economic" decisions McCain would make and the kinds of people he would have in his treasury department (Gramm) it's not too much a stretch to think that McCain would drive the economy worse than Bush has.
Obama is partially wrong, on the economy McCain is not Bush 3, he's much worse.
It's hilarious watching how McCain is scape goating the economic meltdown we have now with the golden parachutting CEO's of these companies when one of his own advisers, former HP CEO Carly Fiorina was one of those very CEO's that drove their company to failure getting thousands laid off from her company and eventually fired from HP but still geting a $45 million bonus.
