You know what, I have a paper woman and she is the ONLY one that never misses throwing the paper on my porch. Shes a great woman working three jobs to support the children that her former hubby left behind.
-
I am a GREAT supporter of women. My wife has been marching for womens rights for years now. My wife is rich and we donate to all causes and especially in our home town.
I personally gave the paper woman $25,000 when she was left alone and theres not a Christmas that goes by that my wife does not send her a big fat check and of course others to.
I see her kids playing sports and they were always dressed properly I didn't want all that to stop.
-
Its worth all the money because every Christmas she and her children (and others) give my wife and I a big hug and a kiss.
You know, I am a BIG supporter of women and womens rights. I have seen so many familys left alone when the guy leaves. Theres not many things sader than seeing the sad faces on a women and her children that are left to fend for themselves.
It warms our hearts to be able to help ALL of them in our town.
God bless every one of them.

My best to you.

We have 299,000,000 working Americans? So who is attending school, and who is retired?
| You know, if you take out children and those of the standard retirement age (60+), America employs less of its population than most other advanced economies.
Even France employs a larger portion of its population in this "prime age" demographic. There's no hope of catching the Scandinavians like Denmark, employing 90% of people in this group (only about 60% in the US). Americans don't realize this because they focus on "unemployment rates", which are skewed by the fact that Europeans stay in school longer and don't work after retirement.
European job and economic growth have always kept up with the US. The US just has a higher population growth so people don't notice European wealth is actually growing even faster, per person - despite EU integration costs.
The median US income has been stagnant for 20 years at $24K, comparable to a minimum wage worker in France or UK. The US is quite productive and Americans work far more than their European counterparts, but they receive such a small share they rely on high credit and low savings just to keep up with the rest of the world. Combine this with the fact that Americans receive fewer public goods (health, education, childcare, etc) and one can see a dramatic difference in living standards.
Quality factors are even more revealing. The US has higher poverty, more crime, lower health outcomes, lower investment, infrastructure gaps, oil dependence, worse primary/secondary education, lower tertiary enrollment, highest dropout rates, higher inequality, etc. These are expensive "taxes" that will have to be paid eventually.
Much higher medical and crime costs actually make the economy larger, but provide no increase in living standards. Americans fail to recognize their real standard of living because they incorrectly use GDP as a substitute.
The US has been falling behind other countries for a while - it just took a recession to see it. They don't recognize it until Europeans start buying US companies and credit becomes tight. The US' "credit worthiness" has recently dropped below France and Germany - quite amazing for an advanced economy 5 times larger.

Why are Republicans in Congress trying to help Barack Obama?
Republicans allowed a bill that carries his name, among nine others, to pass the Senate Foreign Relations Committee by voice vote last week – without any hearings. That means there was no roll-call vote so no member can be held accountable. The same bill passed the House by voice vote last year.
The Obama bill passed out of committee with the cooperation of the co-sponsor, Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind. A Rhodes scholar like former President Bill Clinton, Lugar has never seen a United Nations enhancement he didn't like.
Obama's costly, dangerous and altogether bad bill (S. 2433), which could come up in the Senate any day, is called the Global Poverty Act. It would commit U.S. taxpayers to spend 0.7 percent of our Gross Domestic Product on foreign handouts, which is at least $30 billion over and above the exorbitant and wasted sums we already give away overseas.
The bipartisan bill would require the president "to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to further the United States foreign policy objective of promoting the reduction of global poverty, the elimination of extreme global poverty, and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goal of reducing by one-half the proportion of people worldwide, between 1990 and 2015, who live on less than $1 per day."
[...]
These goals include a "standing peace force" (i.e., a U.N. standing army), a "U.N. Arms Register" of all small arms and light weapons, "peace education" covering "all levels from preschool through university," and "political control of the global economy." The goals call for implementing all U.N. treaties that the United States has never ratified, all of which set up U.N. monitoring committees to compromise U.S. sovereignty.
To achieve this level of control over U.S. domestic law, the plan calls for "strengthening the United Nations for the 21st century" by "eliminating" the veto and permanent membership in the Security Council. The goal is to reduce U.S. influence to one out of 192 nations, so we would have merely the same vote as Cuba.
The Global Poverty Act would be a giant step toward the Millennium Goals of global governance and international taxes on Americans. Tell your senators to kill this un-American bill.

Lean: Liberal | Re: What nation will take us over because of the PISS POOR condition bush has us in? That would be the median family income. Since I was comparing it to minimum wage of France or UK, I was using the median individual income.
Family income has increased due to the increase of number of workers.
25,795 - Right about where I had said. Historical Income Tables - People
The BLS shows median hourly income, at $15. This too is comparable to the minimum wage of about 7 pounds UK. http://www.bls.gov/oes/current/oes_nat.htm#b00-0000

Obama bungled his answers on tax policy, big time. Period. End of sentence. End of story. To my liberal friends in the media, all I can say is: Get over it. Your guy has a very poor grasp of basic economic principles.
First off, you don’t raise taxes during a recession. That’s a no-brainer. Second, doubling the capital-gains tax rate will affect Americans up and down the income ladder, not just rich hedge-fund managers. In addition, capital-gains tax cuts are self-financing, and they stimulate jobs and the economy. You want to raise budget revenues and spark economic growth? Cut the cap-gains tax rate. That’s what history shows.
[...]
In effect, Obama’s economics are bad and his social circle is very limited. This is one of the many reasons why a quarter of the Hillary Democrats are telling pollsters they’ll likely move to John McCain in the general election.
Obama’s real agenda is far-liberal left. It’s an ideology that places income redistribution above economic growth. That’s his real message. And it’s the same one that sunk Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Gore, and Kerry. Bill Clinton? He was a growth Democrat. So he won twice. But Obama is aligning himself with the Democratic losers. And that will make him a loser as well. | Larry Kudlow on Barack Obama and Tax Policy on NRO Financial

Lean: Liberal | Re: What nation will take us over because of the PISS POOR condition bush has us in? I'm not really sure if your posts are relevant to the topic, bhkad. They just seem to be quotes from right-wing or libertarian interest groups about Obama.
To clarify my post above, the Census and BLS data show US median income to be about $15/hr or $24K. The Census' latest data is about $1K higher, but you'll find the BLS inflation adjustments since the last census report actually have another decline (inflation grew faster than wages) for the median earner. The current data is about $24K, or about $13/hr.
In Western Europe, the minimum wage is generally around 9 Euros, or a bit over $14US - directly in the middle of the two US surveys. Many of the wealthier Scandinavian nations have no minimum wage, but mandated industry-wide minimum wages well over the Euro average. Germany too has mandated industry wages higher than France, but no national wage.
My primary point was this: European minimum wages are pretty close to the middle US earner, but a median US worker must use that income to pay for things the minimum wage earner in Europe usually gets for free (University, Healthcare, Childcare, etc).
The OECD also has median earner statistics I can provide, showing the US is about 16th place overall if we only compare median earners.
The Social conditions are another matter.

WE ARE BROKE!!! NO $$$$$! NO CASH! NP FOOD, SOON NO OIL, NO ANYTHING! | I think either, McCain will win and then the war machine will continue and we maintain empire or Obama wins and he gets painted as not good enough to handle terrorism by previous president and the buisiness men all shake hands with China and Russia and their export terrorism expert teams come into our soviergnty diminishing country to help us "out".
