Yeah, these have been going on for freaking ever. US hit the pinnacle of democratic power in 1946 then again in 1989. Okay. These are not new things. These are tragically old things.

She makes all of these principles as signs of the times a changin

1. Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy.

Goin on since Indians vs English, old as dirt. Also goin on since McCarthism. Don't buy it. Too simple. 1st time: boston tea party.

2. Create secret prisons where torture takes place.

US has tortured all through WWI and WWII and Vietnam. It was just done more secretly with less media. Not a sign of anything but the willingness to answer another nation's torture with our own torture. 1st time: 1781. British soldiers were tortured by americans in the revolution.


3. Develop a thug caste or paramilitary force not answerable to citizens.

George Washington's army thought about taking over the white house, but George Washington said the army services the people, not the other way around. Actually the revolutionary people of this nation were paramilitary unanswerable to the english. So this is 1776 old.

4. Set up an internal surveillance system.

We have had internal surveillance since world war I. not new. 1st time 1917.

5. Harass citizens groups.

Vietnam showed that we harassed the s--t out of citizen groups, Nixon even killed a few at kent state.

Our government openly harassed black people by making them sit on the back of the bus and out of nice diners and out of good schools until 1964. Not new. 1st time: the slave boats to america.

6. Engage in arbitrary detention and release.

We rounded up the japanese in world war I, we rounded up the native americans in the early 1800 s. Not new. 1st time: birth of america.

7. Target key individuals.

Like lennon. 1981 lennon was targeted. Like wooly bully the song. Targeted for subversive language. Like radio stations in 1941 that protested involvement in the war. Like Ali. All targets. Not new. 1 st time: 1941


8. Control the press.

Again congress passed a law in 41 that made it illegal to criticize the war. They passed it at 10 am and enforced it by 2 pm the same day. Not new. Before this in the 1800s it was simply illegal to criticize an appointed politician in a newspaper until a case under a juror voted that the truth against a politician is permissable. Not new. 1st time: birth of america. Ben Franklin faced being censored and controlled.

9. Treat all political dissents as traitors. (Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists. George Bush)

Yes indeed. vietnam, ww ii, ww i all acted in this way. vietnam protests, ww ii radio protests, ww i draft dodgers, civil war critics of the buyout process in drafting. All were treated as traitors. Simply being japanese in ww ii was traitor like. Simply mentioning communism in 1940 was traitor like. Not new. 1 st time: civil war.


10. Suspend the rule of law.

Again less freedom during war time, such as less freeedom of speech such as less rights of the people. Simple. 1st time: 1865 or earlier.


Okay don't mean to be SO argumentative but these are so general that I can put up ten right now that are so universal that they are immediately applicable.

This is tragically flawed. What she is pointing out is how nations act DURING WAR. They all do the same things during military conflict.

1. draft
2. build military
3. look for suspicious people in the nation
4. detain those people.
5. control unpopular words that will work against the war
6. torture the truth out of people
7. if you don't get the truth realize you might have to let them go
8. be influential in the media, win hearts and minds
9. increase military production, so seize military like factories from even own people who incompetently run the factories
10 win the war to fight again another day.

She is pointing out WAR practices and calling it FACIST practices. A bunch of bs. And if her grandmother said ... they did this in germany it's because they were gearing for war, not necessairly gearing for facism, just a coincidence.

Logial flaw elucideated. Othe things that happen in both war and facisim

1. training young people
2. teaching military principles
3. switching factories from civil goods to military goods
4. drafting men
5. not drafting women
6. having women work in factories to replace missing men
7. amp up adds like the riveter female in 1941 or like rockwell's freedoms.
8. torture torture torture, its a part of war
9 take war prisoners
10 win the war


These ten are all taken by both democratic warring nations and fascist warring nations, so she is elaborating on WAR not on FASCISM.

If we were in a fascist system, then politicaldebate.com would not be allowed to exist, she would not be allowed to speak,

the irony note is that SHE IS ALLOWED TO SAY IT, which means there is no fascist power detaining her. Self evident truth 101. Her ability to tell us proves FREEDOM. Common sense.

No.... everything is not completely tied together, not at all. While airlines were losing money, security firms that were defending those airlines were making money. Thus, not tied together.

Quick play by play for you airlines can go down, thus hotel go down, and restaurants go down, but people being fearful drives insurance companies up, secuirty firms up, handgun purchase up and home security systems up. Also, if the economy is in in a down turn, INFERIOR GOODS GO UP.

Let me explain this quickly. Hotels over all can go down, yet econoldge, super 8 and hotel 6 can actually go up, because people forgoe the wyndham and the marriot and drive into the cheap hotel. Thus not even one single industry is interrelated to itself in the same direction. They are exactly opposed. In good times people skip the hotel six and go to the marriot. So lets say your in IT. If IT is good, this means that more people are using the internet, these means that less people are using book stores. Internet reading, writing, and entertainment goes up, paperback sales go down. So everything being connect is bullocks. If everything was connected my little wrong-so-much-it's-sad princess then all stocks prices would move in the same direction, YET, YET, they don't. Recently banking and housing related stocks are down, yet Biotech and medical research are up. IT is up on one part and down on another part, as in IT software and IT hardware, but internet stocks are still not blooming.
