The Decline in Male Workforce Participation

Good morning, Jack. :2wave:

:agree: To have a way of life for men change so drastically from what has been the norm for thousands of years is hardly a "normative sea change," if I understand his use of the words correctly. I can't believe that men have just voluntarily "given up" their role of provider, and I'm thankful I'm not seeing that among the men I know, both family and friends! Does increased drug use play a role in this? Very strange.....

what do thousands of years have to do with it? we now have more equality for women which they never had before. families aren't all like the TV show "leave it to beaver".

things progress.

Good morning, Polgara.:2wave:

The times, they are a changin' but I doubt this outcome was intended by anyone.

Greetings, MV. :2wave:

Why now? Is this some kind of excuse being used to justify the lack of economic growth we should be experiencing? While men are certainly capable of cooking, cleaning, and taking care of children, I can't think that most men look forward to doing that on a "full-time, rest of their life" basis, while the women go to work to earn the money in the household. Whatever works, I guess.....

it's true. vegans don't have clogged arteries and the rates of impotence are almost non existent amongst vegans.
Vegan, reminds of the joke about what the word vegan means in Native American parlance... ha ha ha, bad hunter.

What you say may well be true, but who wants to live longer without being able to not only smell and see the red meat turn to perfection on the barbecue, hear its sizzle when you first slap it down with tongs on the hot grill, turning it, the juices ... okay, okay I gotta stop...anyhow I can understand not wanting to live if you are not up to having sex, but to deny yourself almost the equal pleasure of all the various meats?

Bordering on blasphemous...

And in an effort to stay with the thread, just think how many cowboys, butchers and meat-packers would lose their jobs, what would happen to those working in the burger, taco and chicken joints, all the independent restaurants... no more breakfasts of eggs, bacon, toast and coffee? Just the toast, coffee and maybe a tofu substitute... and while I like fruit salads, does not fill me up and very unsatisfying. All those poor cows, pigs and chickens, turkeys, too, might start edging towards extinction.

What a disaster, would be far worse than the Hindenburg crashing into the Titanic.
