Thirty-nine thousand Verizon workers on strike in US

Which has nothing to do with a person who claims they are a "free market capitalist", ant yet they are going to turn to socialism. It's a ruse.

Sounded like poetic license to me.

Like how I say if Jahweh is running the show I'm on the other team.

Naw, Frank is a person who likes to call himself an "independent", but only advances leftist ideals, and only supports leftist dems. That goes way beyond "poetic license". ;)

I AM an Independent. That certainly does not mean I do not have a bias...which I definitely HAVE...and which I have acknowledge dozens upon dozens of times, Country. (or Boy, if you prefer.)

I advocate for a progressive agenda. I want to see our nation's safety net programs protected and expanded. I most assuredly will not get that from the conservative element of society. And while sometimes I don't get it from the Democrats, I think I have the best chance with them.

I think our country has a much better chance with Democrats at the helm.

Our current iteration of capitalism is limping down the road blowing smoke and spewing tranny fluid.
.

actually we have what they call a mixed economy,i.e, it has elements of capitalism and socialism. Econ 101 The socialist parts are what is screwing it up. For example, liberal govt taxes unions and deficits drive our corporations and jobs off shore. Eliminate the liberal influence and you have 10 milion new jobs and upward pressure on wages tomorrow. Do you understand?

I know. You are a democrat.

childish, we don't have a safety net. A safety net is something that catches you when you fall and then you get off. We have crippling lifetime entitlements that destroy our citizens, create moral hazard, and enable liberal politicians to buy votes and thus subvert our democracy. NOw do you understand?

No, no he doesn't.

Great safety net analogy though. :)

You...and Countryboy...are the ones who do not understand.

But that doesn't make you bad people.

At some point...you may actually see the truth.

actually you tried to change the subject because you had no substantive confutation. Did you fool yourself?

Thanks. I see Frank is an independent communist, whatever that means?
Nah, he's a democrat who likes to claim he's an "independent", for some unknown reason.

Its a new trend called permatemping, where corporations are using temporary and independent contracts, as loopholes to avoid labor laws, meaning employees can be fired for no reason and at anytime, they aren't protected by most labor and wage laws, many work with no overtime, for less than minimum wage with no sick days, vacation days, lunch breaks etc etc etc many corporations keeping employees on temporary contracts (originally meant for your first 90 days) for 5 years or more, temp workers currently make up about 15% of american workers, but its hard too determine how many of these would be considered "perma temps"

Verizon wireless in particular does this with almost all of its customer service and technician jobs, and that $1.8 billion dollars if it were distributed fairly would come out to $10k per month for every employee

Yeah, a lot of the tech industry does this. It's not a new trend though, it's been going on since the web was born. If you choose the right ones to work with it's a great life, especially if you're a programmer or server administrator. Work from home and outside of the occasional emergency you pick your own hours. I like it, it's a semi-retirement for me. Check comes with regularity and I can spend time with the grandkids. My clothes budget is all t-shirts and jeans and I was even able to get rid of my car.

All the productivity increases here have gone to the owners for 40 years now.

We have structural issues with our iteration of capitalism.

It's a national issue which cannot be solved without a tripartite committee (govt, employers and unions) sitting at the table and talking.

Problem solved by sending 20 million liberal illegals home so they won't take 20 million of our jobs and drive down our wages!

Are they really illegals to allow 20 million to come in?

Amazing isn't it?? Our libsocialists get away with a Nazi-like level of deception. They present themselves as champions of the poor and middle class who are going to do battle against the evil rich to get welfare for the poor and middle class.

What they don't tell you is that they invited 20 million illegals in to take 20 million jobs from the poor and middle class or that they keep corporate taxes at the highest level in the world to drive another 20 million jobs off shore. Shouldn't libsocialism be illegal?? Isn't this what our Founders intended?
