S&P just downgraded Saudi Arabia

considering every western leader is allies with saudi arabia, visits them and buys oil from them i don't think op's john kerry comment stems from anything other than the fact the BI put a picture of him in the article shaking hands with the king for no reason

aside from the kerry paranoia.............. this is interesting that S&P would downgrade the saudis considering theyve been running a surplus for years. Im not even even sure if theyre issuing all that much debt but the country is a monarchy so the credit rating is more like a personal credit rating thats based just on the king and his family, but this is exactly how the rating systems influence foreign policy.

Go against the USA and we'll drop your credit rating. probably the reason why the BRICS is forming

Source for what? If you have a point, make it rather than handing out reading assignments.

Mention Saudi Arabia and US hypocrisy overshadows everything else.

He is one of the prime movers.

He is one of the prime movers.

The close cuddles between the US and Saudi Arabia predate John Kerry by decades.

I don't like it any more than you do, but to blame it all on Kerry is remarkably shortsighted.

John Kerry/Obama if you prefer that way.

So you are going to ignore literally decades of history.

The historical hypocrisy still reigns today but we deal with the govt of the day.

Maybe if we try to get off oil, we can back away from "allies" like the House of Saud.

Of course, anyone who mentions alternative energy hates America. Or something.

the Saud family's country is a brutal police state. It will come down like a house of cards soon enough.
It is to the eternal shame of Americans that their government has a record over decades of supporting tyrant monarchs and dictators often without the knowledge of the American people.
