When I was 20 and drifting I got coerced in to attaching myself to some organized crime people. Very soon after I realized how stupid this was and how scary those people were and left the state of Florida and did not return for many years. I still can't get over how cold blooded nearly everyone was. If my dad ever knew that I let myself get sucked in to that scum bucket he would have disowned me for good.

There are certain kinds of porn that I like to watch. Mu mom is incapable of understanding that. And there are many things about myself that she doesn't know about.

Basically I just can not talk to her about anything at all, she gets too upset and can't take it.

Luther's rule of thumb - "If you can't tell your parents then it's probably also not a good idea to tell the internet".

Oh please, the internet pulls out its hair when I say simple things like I like the color green and blue.

True story.

no matter what I say, no matter how I express it, if it is not on moderated forum, then somebody will get upset at me and get into my face over it, or just wants to troll me for their own self gratification.

That they were accidents. Some things they just dont need to learn.

We've all got our skeletons. ****, I'm racking some up and I'm only a teenager...

It's an interesting dynamic. Of course, there's the hope that it gets buried and is never seen by anyone ever. Secrets we take to the grave.

Anything I wouldn't have told my late parents, I sure ain't telling on the Internet. :)

My father is now 94 and my mother 92.

Do you REALLY want me responsible for two heart attacks at once?

We all do stupid **** as teens. 99.9% of it is just "stuff" and is more embarrassing than anything else. No sense in telling the folks about that stuff as long as you've worked your way through it and know it isn't going to happen again. .05% of the stuff could be really problematic in the future and you may need help so perhaps telling the folks (or someone else that can steer you in the right direction) is a good idea. The other .05% is stuff you should probably just keep to yourself.

As an aside, if you find yourself hanging out with folks who seem to have one of those .05% categories bleeding over into the 1%+ categories or if your own actions are heading that direction then stop....just ****ing stop. Ditch the friends and/or get yourself some help because you're on the fast road to that "unfixable" territory.

That's similar to what I call my "Kids Rule" - If I wouldn't be proud to tell my kids what I did, then I'm not going to do it.

If you're not from the South, you may not know who Lewis Grizzard was (he's no longer with us), but he is one of the funniest souther comedians to have ever lived. He has a comedy routine that's entitled: "Damn Brother, Don't Believe Ida Told That!"

There are certain kinds of porn I've been in...

My parents dont need to know that.

Usually been rather honest about both the good and bad, I've done.
Same with my kids, I want them to understand what real people are and not idolize some fictional, perfect person.

I'd never tell my parents I ever posted on a political board. I can hear my father now. "Why in the hell would you want to do that? For heavens sake...you get in enough trouble just being who you are. Don't tell anybody what you think."

Would anyone want their parents to know what kind of porn they've been viewing?

Well I try to tell my parents things but they find me annoying or dont care. So I just write or do something alone where I dont have to deal with other people. Its always been that way. When I was younger and now that I am older. So I never told them anything anyways. Its not like anything I say to my parents really matters to them. I just learned to do things on my own. My parents would make food and buy us clothes but they never really paid attention to me. My brother seem to have adapted to this by drowning everyone out with video-games and pretending we did not exist. My brother does not seem to care about any of us. When I did tell them something or asked them questions they usually told me "I was sick in the head". At this point I finally got it through my brain to never ever talk to them. Since its a terrible burden for them to know that I exist and we are too only bother them if its absolutely necessary. So I guess I dont tell them anything.

If you value honesty and an open relationship, then you don't have to volunteer the information, but you should be truthful if they ask about it.

Mom, you're almost always right and I'm almost always wrong.

:mrgreen

And if your parents are dead?
