We hear all this talk all the time about feminists bashing housewives. But I contend that it is pretty rare. I also suspect that you, like most people, just kind of pulled it out of the air. You aren't actually hearing them say it, again and again. It's just one of those myths that sticks until it justifies itself. And your response supports that idea.
If you're not arguing with me on the fact that some feminists do look down upon the concept of the stay-at-home mom, why should I then give you examples, if you're not arguing, but agreeing? No, you agree yet you, for some reason, desire proof. You can do your own homework to find your own examples since you agree with me. IF you were foolish enough to disagree on my logical assertion, and asked for quotes, then I'd be more than happy to apply substantive data to back up my claims. I'm not going to provide data for your own amusement if you're agreeing with my claim.

Do something foolish, like disagree with my logical claim, and then I'll apply the proper data that some feminists have done so. Otherwise, you are out of luck, since you so coyly "agree."

Are you going to keep tallking, or give me examples?

You said feminists say these things. So I asked for examples. So you should be able to give them.

    Re: Feminism

The orginal "feminists give homemakers a hardtime" comes from someone who told that is exactly the crossfire she is sometimes in.
Those challenging it seem to think the question is what do published feminists say, but that's just an odd view. Who cares what authors write? She was talking about her personal life and real people, not publications of political essays.
When a person tells of their personal life, it is pointless to respond with "prove it."

You make no claim for or against my logically/qualified statement. I'll oblige you, then. I'll give you but one quote from Vivian Gornick, a feminist author, on her disdain to the concept of the stay-at-home mom. If you want quotes from others like, say, Robin Morgan, I'll give them as well.

I argue that some feminists who dislike the notion of the stay-at-home mom do exist. To argue that logical claim is to argue that absolutely no feminists exist who dislike the concept of the stay-at-home mom.

Reread my posts. If you agree with me, why should I then have to provide proof. If I agree withg someone's argument, do I then ask that same person for evidence to back up the argument I already agree with?

So no, I will not. You claim to agree with my claim, yet ask for proof as though you secretly disagree with it.

Furthermore, I said "some." Indeed, some have said so.

some have said so, undoubtedly these days those comments are quite isolated, and really not worth mentioning in the same breath as mainstream feminism. but do keep up the ridiculous stance.

My "stance" is perfectly logical. "Some" feminists have said so.

Really, why do you argue the logical statement? All Isaid is that "some" do exist. Sorry, but I'm neither going to use absolutes and say "all" or "none," so you're going to have to accept that logical reality.

Wow. Lots of squirming and whining about such a simple request.

Thanks for finally providing one example.

Yes. Some. Hang your hat on that.

I imagine that it's a rare thing. And it doesn't really matter anyway. Feminists are not spokesmen for anyone but themselves. What a particular feminist says doesn't change what others believe, or a general principle that guides a movement.

Yes, we all agree that women should be able to choose whether to be a housewife or career woman, right? So what more is there to say?
