Well, at any rate, I'm more or less ready to go; I've PMed Jerry.
The debate will either start tonight (and may continue this weekend, if we don't have time to finish it) or else we'll just wait til the weekend to start it.

Well then, you are a rarity amongst debaters; many women find it both enraging and terrifying that nearly half of society wishes to take away their right to control their own reproductive functions. In my experience, the most emotionally detached debaters tend to be prochoice men; ergo, they usually also tend to be the most effective.

Just to point you in the right direction, the two points that are most relevant to me in my decision on smoking bans are the right of business owners to decide what legal activities they allow in their establishments (considering that no one HAS to go to any of them), and tyranny of the majority.

Turned out the hotel had a computer. We'll talk about logistics of the debate when I'm back in Iowa City.

Felicity I hear you. Reverse debates are fun and informative but I couldn't do one on abortion. Probably could on any other topic but not that one. It would be like trying to argue the merits of something like child abuse or sexual assault for me. Nothing wrong with being aware of your limitations. Jerry will do well.

I think you give yourself too little credit. I think that if you actually tried you could debate pro-choice no problem.

Well... I just got done with an exhausting debate with Jerry (it may not look like much, but trust me: the research involved was exhausting).
Tonight or tomorrow, maybe?
