2014 CIA & Media prediction of 2nd American Revolution

I don't believe all politicians are corrupted by lobbyist or are corrupt..

Yes, but politicians with integrity are rare. I'm thinking more like 1/3 of politicians are slightly corrupt... you know, they might make a deal they shouldn't do hear and there, or pays himself an extra vacation or something...

The premise I'm basing this opinion of political corruption is more along the lines that everyone has secrets, and so are potentially victims of blackmail.

If you were to run for Congress and get elected, are you saying your values would be turned by a lobbyist? I doubt mine would.

There are a variety of potential circumstances that can cause politicians to be swayed to 'accomodate' in returning favors while in the process of getting elected.

I think it's only a minority of politicians that I would label 'criminally corrupt'. I also think that it's more prevalent in carreer politicians then politicians with a cause,

I agree we need to get back to a better govt. I agree that the majority of those in office now, need to be voted out. Maybe we need to enact laws to restrict lobbying.

While I agree that would have an effect, and even replacing all the bad politicians with new people as the next exlections come about would only be temporary solutions. I remember seeing an article about how people could pay 500000$ for an hour of Obama's time in person...just to say how far that is.

I don't think there is any simple option beyond 'getting active and persuading others to get active and come up with their own solutions that they can work on and try to recruit other like-minded individuals to help the cause' type of solutions.

I don't know the precise answers, but there are so many issues going on, that the only hope is to roll the dice with a whole new squad and hope that the people winning don't do a flip-flop back to the status quo too quickly.

Probably the best singular law I would think would help would be to create a 'vote of no confidence' for all politicians. A sort of way for the people to directly 'fire' bad politicians.

I don't think of it as a 'highly organized' system as much as a hierarchical system.
Which implies order and structure.

I'll use an example of a bank : The CEO of the bank is essentially the 'ruler' of that institution. He doesn't need to influence everyone down the chain of command, he just needs to influence his board of directors as to what the agenda is, and delegates his board members different tasks in order to accomplish this agenda. A few layers down and you'll have perhaps a few hundred people each with sub-tasks that might know there is an agenda, but in order to keep a job they worked years to get they see the good of it over the bad, or justify it, whatever... till you get down to the bank teller that doesn't even know the managers 'agenda' nevermind having a clue about what gets discussed in the CEO's office.
And I think that example is far too organized for what we have. I think we have a system where there is some cooperation but by and large you have MANY self-interested people working against the system to benefit themselves and that creates a net effect that gives the appearance of cooperation.

Keep in mind, for most of these people, they are still in the wealth game so if they can make more money by fighting each other, they'll do it. Simply because one is rich doesnt mean you gain a spirit of teamwork to stay that way.

The best thing I could think of would be the 1950's meeting of the bilderburg group.

Europe was still being rebuilt after the war, yet, these 'elites' at the time were discussing :
- The means to unify europe (the pre-requisite to that was the unification of germany, which was deemed necessary to prevent communist influences from getting a hold in europe)
- Creating a common currency for this newly created european union.

It took roughly 30 years for the first part of their plan to be accomplished, 15 years to accomplish the second part, and another 5 years to begin on the last part.
These are basic parts of having a strong geo-political position. You forget that the EU went through (and is going through) the same sorts of pains that the US originally went through when we became the UNITED States of America.

Just to say, it may be a pipedream, but more often then not, these bored billionaires do end up getting their way.
Except they really havent. Geo-politically things may be going the way of the wealthy but the people are still not docile and there is still great (and I would argue growing) resistance to the idea of "the American dream".
