There was an incident on a plane mid-November, involving a group of non-English speakers, but that seems to be the point where paranoid bigotry departs from reality.

So, he was visiting Ohio, but somehow he was in Atlanta when the plane was trying to take off? I guess it makes sense to drive from Ohio to Atlanta so you can fly to Houston...

Also, if you google the flight, it was DELAYED, not CANCELLED...kind of an easy thing to get right if he was actually there.

Don't really believe that an airline would cancel a flight because 12 or so of the 70-some passengers decided to leave...that's a very expensive decision to make.

The poster even admits that he, too, violated orders from the flight crew. Interesting.

The whole story reeks of anti-Muslim extremism.

So, let's compare:

Fort Hood: many eye-witness accounts, multiple sources, video, still photos, etc.

Flight 297: One person citing someone claiming an e-mail from a friend...nobody else on the flight has said anything to anyone. Consider all the news outlets that offer money for a good story...nobody has taken advantage of that?

Bringing Fort Hood up in this discussion is just a diversion from the lack of facts.

Oh, and by the way...I'm a vet (cold war fast attack subs) and my son is a vet (air force during Iraq) so, believe me...I do support the military.

Buying into this story as is, with no other verification, is like believing me if I said that a friend of mine sent me an e-mail proving that John Boehner and Lindsey Graham were in Berkeley, dressed as sorority sisters, trolling for frat boys...would you believe me or would you want more proof than just a supposed e-mail from my friend?
