The only division is between citizens and the establishment.

The only perceived division is the one the establishment creates between the citizens to allow easier conquest of the masses. You know? Divide and conquer? They try to give the illusion of a difference in political agenda, but then the new President doesn't do much different or change much from the last President.
Kinda like a king allowing you to pick which one of his sons will be next?

I'm not sure if you are aware but if it happens that the banks can no longer offer credit to anyone, the store shelves will empty within 2 weeks-1 month. One thing about hunger is that after 4 days people will start to steal for food, after a week people will kill.

If things keep heading as they are... I wouldn't be too surprised to see riots on the streets within a year. All bets are off after that.
Thanks to the internet I think riots would ensue a bit faster than a year. I also think there would be much less killing than you would think. All that's needed if **** hits the fan is a few good community leaders to convince whole cities to buy seed and plant and start clearing out room. Although, I would hope one has a gun if living in high density cities.

Are you actually predicting a Civil War in the USA within a year?

Seems quite a leap to me too.

This country is completely intertwined with people being freinds, relatives or just plain caring for neighbors in all aspects of political, police, military etc.

A civil war is absolutely impossible in this country in this day and age thanks to easy travel and modern communication

Now a world war I feel would be far more likely

I agree. We will have two or three world wars before there is another civil war in the USA. As bad as it is for many people, for various reasons, there are far too many people that have it really really REALLY freaking good in the USA. Life is better now than it has ever been for average people at any time in human history, and there really are no major issues that would be considered life and death to deal with.

I seriously hope so... Except, (I'm sure you'll ask for the documents) preachers have been paid so that when shyt DOES hit the fan that they will urge their flock to 'submit' to the government citing Romans 13.

Not exactly what's going to be the best advice from 'community leaders'...

Maybe not a 'civil war'... but at the least civil unrest. Once unemployment rates reach in the area of 20-25% there will be demonstrations for something to be done to ensure jobs.... and like usual the 'provocateurs' (paid and otherwise) will arrive to make sure these demonstrations turn violent... then there's some options :
- Martial law
- Massive riots
- Large scale war involving conscription to keep the rioters.

Then there is the issue of if any of these 'gun bans' get implemented... If 1% of gun owners fight back against a gun ban that is over a million armed civilians.

I couldn't predict exactly what is going to happen... but I don't expect that the 'status quo' will remain for much longer than a year from now.

I don't think of it in terms of a 'civil war' like the north vs south.... this is going to be more something like 'the army/police vs the people'. If there was another terrorist attack, I wouldn't even be surprised to see metal detectors on certain street corners.

I don't know how things are going to pan out, but whether it's demonstrations of people out wanting to work...converting them to one of obama's 'squads'...or to FEMA camps, or if it'll be some sort of 'terrorist' attack on the US that'll bring about martial law.... I don't know what's going to happen, but there are so many possibilities that are just not pretty right now... You can only compare 'the great depression' in so many ways before you realize that the majority of people were self-suficient... whereas now the majority are dependant on the system functioning to survive.

There is so much portential for evil in all of this, it's scary, cause all it seems that it will take in one event to ignite it all....

You know, I wondered that. But now I think it's more about the popular one. Who can get the agenda passed with the least amount of resistance. Bush seemed more of a plant. He was the one more willing to do "the deed" that had to be done to shred the Constitution a little bit.

I was asked this question the other day about who the real terrorists are:
Who is more responsible for shredding the Constitution and taking away your civil liberties? Osama bin Laden, or George Bush?

Then again, maybe they do not really care who wins - as long as they're controlled later. Like, "welcome to the Presidency. Now do this or ... well, you know what happened to JFK, don't you? (insert sinister laugh here)"

Who knows? I do find it peculiar the big 9 banks supported Obama, and then they are the ones who got a bail-out.

Taking that further, 9 is a very interesting number. It's three threes. And why is three important? Because it's the number of THE HOLY TRINITY that Christians tried to push. Three...also the number of numbers in 9/11. And there's the 9 again. What day is today? February NINTH, 2009. Nines are everywhere. And what month is it? February, which is basically 2, or II. II, as in........9/II

NINE BANKS, NINE ELEVEN
