I think that it's an appalling reality, rather then marginalized conspiracy theory, that in this country the prison system and the military are the providers of social services.

Have to wonder just how many correction officers and the many others involved in keeping our prisons full or just keeping the cycle going etc (ever really think about all the many people profiting from our current systems) would otherwise only end up homeless or on the other side of the bars if our tax dollars were not keeping them gainfully employed.

Even those I know who are in the "system" explain that it is all designed to continue to feed itself and create its own growth.
