The video at the start of this thread seems to say that there is a mystical force, the Illuminati, which is leading all the secret societies of Freemasons, Knights of Coumbus, Etc.

The Video acknowledges some dark sides of the journey of leaders who are members of the secret societies. The dark sides include wars, murder and miscarriages of justice. The dark sides are explained as lessons to learn how to be positive.

The positive side is envisioned as a combining of Building side of nature, the Male side, and the Female side, that of Peace and Love. The video states that the time now, is when men recognize those people of other countries and opposing groups, as brothers, and there is no need for leaders. Men can be good to each other.

The fact that there are secret societies seems to be true, as there are reports of secret societies in the news media, and there are temple buildings, to which men and women attend meetings or rituals.

The idea that there is an Illuminati, or specialized spiritual entity, leading the leaders of the secret societies has not been covered, at least not widely covered, in the news media.

Is there an escapist tendency of man, to excuse his individual and collective actions, by attributing Man's misdeeds to a higher power, such as God, the Devil, or the Illuminati?

It seems probable that the leaders of secret societies, with more or less power or influence, would pray for wisdom to a higher power, such as God or the Illuminati, which seems to be a God, or spiritual collective, for the Elite.

It might be more comforting to those of us who have not achieved the 32nd degree of Masonry, or other higher ranking order of a secret society, that there is an "Illuminati", or special guiding spiritual force, that especially counsels the elite of the world.

Wishful thinking? Consoling thought? Rationalization that leads to greater sanity/comfort for those of us in the masses of common people?

Is reality more important that perception in all cases?

Secret societies? The Mason's are in every phone book in the land. You can't hardly enter a town without seeing a big sign listing all the civic organizations there, Masons included.

There is a Masonic temple less than a half mile from me with big bold lettering out front. (By the way, "temple" also refer to "labor" and not just religious dwellings. Don't confuse a "Masonic Temple" with a religious facility. It is a benevolent fraternity. No more, no less.)

If the Mason's are going for secrecy, they are going about it the wrong way.

Evidence that the Illuminati does not exist, that there is no special spiritual guidance available to leaders:

I remember reading a report from an investigative reporter who snuck into the meetings of the Tri-Lateral commission or Bilderberg, or some leadership brain trust, in maybe 1989. He reported that the metting he attended did not indicate any special knowledge or wisdom, beyond common knowledge or principles covered in the press.

The analogy he used was like when we ride airplanes, we sit in our seat, and we really can't see the pilot, co-pilot or navigator. So he came away from his investigation feeling like these special world leaders really did not know anything special, and it was like we are in an airplane, and the pilot and crew might not really even be there.

There may be world leaders because of circumstance, but his observations were that the World Leaders really did not have any better plan, than any of the rest of us could make.
