this video is complete falsified BS. a 10-20 lb dog is nailed with a weapon like that, and continues whining? I don't think so.

regardless, troops are sometimes instructed to kill feral dogs.

I'm not saying this vid is legitimate or not, but i will say its true about feral dogs in Iraq. We also instigated pest control in 91, and you will be surprised to know on occasions the 5.56mm round did not kill most dogs outright requiring further rounds to do the job.
but suggesting the soldier had emotional feelings for the dog shows a naivety to say the least. A conscience plays little part in times of war thats an unfortunate reality that most non-combatants struggle to come to terms with, they are asked to do an irrational job yet show civility.

Iraq is the wrong place for the troops to protect the life and freedom of Americans.

To "clean up" the cities of Iraq by killing wild dogs around is fine, the question is if the troops also take the dead animal bodies to get destruyed (burn, buried, etc) in order to avoid further risks of diseases.
