the wife n i have been debating the origin of christmas elfs since around 1971 or so. maybe 1972. depending on ur point of view, they can originate from different states. the most common place of origin of christmas elfs is obviously minnesota. it provides the right amount of cold weather climate change that helps them survive. im not sure where people of other "religions" think christmas elfs are from, im sure they have their own theory. my wife is stuck believin that their origin is just south of bismark in the Dakotas.

what do u say? do u think Christmas elfs have a minnesota or dakota background? feel free to voice ur opinion on this theory

Origin

The Christmas elf appeared in literature as early as 1850 when Louisa May Alcott completed, but never published a book entitled Christmas Elves. The image of the elves in the workshop was popularised by Godey's Lady's Book, with a front cover illustration for its 1873 Christmas Issue showing Santa surrounded by toys and elves with the caption, "Here we have an idea of the preparations that are made to supply the young folks with toys at Christmas time."[1] During this time Godey's was immensely influential to the birth of Christmas traditions, having shown the first widely circulated picture of a modern Christmas tree on the front cover of its 1850 Christmas issue. Additional recognition was given in Austin Thompson's 1876 work "The House of Santa Claus, a Christmas Fairy Show for Sunday Schools".[1]

They were genetically engineered in the North Pole by Santa Clause to provide slave labor to fulfill his ever growing Christmas list of good kids who deserve toys.

elfs migrated to the north poll they were not brought there for slavery. chester yindowski was one of the leaders of the move.

Are we talking about the guys who make toys for Santa? Or the guys who sit on shelves?

good question. the ones that work with santa (not for santa). its a partnership dating back to the early 1900s.

Well, with Sauron defeated and the rings destroyed, the elves' time was fading.

it was widespread famine that killed most of them on the journey from minnesota. commonly denied by other religions

well the sources vary. i got this information from our pastor. he knows the full story of the migration. His grandfather was involved.

Did he part the snow sea for the passage or wasn't that Sesom the elf that did that?

Yes. Only Christianity recognizes the sacrifice of the elves during their long march.

But even Christianity denies their sacrifice at Helm's Deep.

who? his grandfather? no. he was a wheel salesman who helped build carriages for the elfs
