Divining is the art of knowing without knowing, like intuition. This is usually called "the placebo effect," where someone thinks they know what is going to happen, and, then twists things around to suite their narcissism or wanting to feel special in the act of thinking they thought it up. truth be told, there is such a thing as a premonition, this is because we live in a reactive world where everything has a set fate for it.
~ While i am writing this, i think i am special, but i am merely a very significant part in the plans of the universe, the workings of the gods, and seeing that my potential is met with fate declaring me a good teacher. it was not me that made myself a good teacher, it was my destiny, due, to the environment i was raised in, the people i met and the ideas i had because of comics and stuff. we are all creations, and we have our various roles to play in the universe we live in.
Now, if you were to observe that, there is only one destiny, you could use various scrying methods - i am sure you have heard of people painting their mirrors black and closing their eyes, or even the age old tale of women looking into crystal balls - and thought where these stupid ideas came from? well, if god once spoke to the people, then these other people were told other things, and they tried them, invested in them, got away with them and got put to death because of them, well, all the famous successful witches. what we have now in 'traditional left handed' magic is what escaped the venom of the inquisition, and, the raids by 'pale people' into the east and west.
So, we got cards, we got crystal palls, we got mirrors and tea leaves... hell, we got lots of different means. these means will leave an impression on our minds that will mean something, and, in a reacting universe, where there is only determinism and fate, where everything reacts with everything else, there are ways to see the path before you.
This is where you find patterns - long ago, some women must have had tea and saw the leaves were far apart or something. then her husband got home with roses. then she saw a very similar thing in her cup, and she got more roses. this pattern must have taken a while to dawn on people, but they will show patterns between certain things happening - this is evidenced in the horoscopes, where the magnetic waves from planets will, for example, pull the tides up, yes? the facing of the earth to the sun will bring seasons, and the solar flares of the sun will bring heat waves. this shows that all things effect earth and us.
So, how do we see the future? this is done by finding patterns, like in maths where i found those patterns, many of which i know are right. so, seeing the future is like maths! you need to be able to find the 'values' of the 'symbols.' each day might be a plus, each week might be a power, yes? these values will be alphanumeric, so that we can understand. if you were to build a house with sixty degree pillars, they will collapse, and, knowing that this equation was worked out, and having warned the builder, this formula showed the eminent demise of the building. this was like a plan, a plan for the business? a plan to sell shares to raise money, you planned to raise money, you worked out if it would work, and you were either right or wrong, yes?
Now, if you were to observe that maths shows if things work, what they work out to, and what they show is unlikely or determined, then you will understand that you can make equations in that tea cup. the tea leaves were scattered, but taking into consideration that they were all set at thirty degrees, making a distinct or vague pattern, one that is logical and recognizable, then we would see that repeating this plan will at least have an effect on the energies you have consumed, as this is chaff from the tea for you to play with or throw away. if a knee bends at certain angles, and the tea leaves show, for example, a far away part of a bone, then you know at some angles it will break, yes?
