He has a lot of support and is constantly selling out arenas and what not...? Or will everybody just be like "k", and move on lol?

If Hillary gets elected, I could see the ultra far right (I'm talking the militia losers) completely losing their minds.

Ya, this is war, this is the little people revolt against the elite who have betrayed us.

Trump is not a conservative. It amazes me how many people still dont grasp such a simple concept when so many well known and highly regarded conservatives keep on that message like a broken record. When the pollsters tell us over and over that Trumps main support comes from moderates.

I'm saying.

But do you think it could get serious?

I don't think his supporters care whether he's a conservative or not. They only care that he is self funding and anti establishment. Only two criteria.

I didn't say anything about Trump.

No. Not even close. Not in and of himself.

Now if they ban NASCAR and beer, there will rise up a fury of mullets like this nation has never seen... :D

Most people don't care enough about politics to form any sort of movement that would lead towards violence on that sort of scale.

I think 10-20 years in the future as the middle class continues to crumble, social strife and conflict will increasingly become prevalent.

His loss will not result in a Civil War, but one maybe be on the horizon for other reasons, the World is not getting better.

You know that Trump is a billionaire right? Little people dont get "small" 1 million dollar loans from their Daddy.

FDR was a member of the elite too. Till he betrayed his class. Trump might have fooled me that he is wanting to do this because he thinks it is required to fix america, but I dont think so. This guy is too much of a hedonist to be willing to slum it for fours years unless he was motivated. My question at the start was " does Trump really want to do this?". He convinced me.

No.

I've heard this every election since I was a kid.

'If Reagan/ Obama/Nixon/Clinton/ Goldwater wins I'm moving to Canada'

99.99% of Americans are not ideologues.

Do what?

What? and do what?

I dont really know what you were trying to say.

When Trump loses his brand will be tarnished. Then Trump will start a new attention grabbing endeavor. Ammon Bundy will probable fight for Trump though.

I disagree with the opinion here from the editor of Esquire, he who is running a "Trump, Hater in chief" Feb issue, but it is relevant in this election and it is on point in this thread :

I don't think Donald has any real idea of the effect he's having on the country beyond the cheering crowds and the newspaper headlines. But, for him, that's plenty. He's an entertainer; he's giving his audience what it wants. The idea that his words have consequences never penetrates. The idea that Open Carry members' harassment of mosques in Texas could have something to do with him just never occurs to him. During his unusual interview with Scott Raab (which goes live on Esquire Classic tomorrow)—which took place a few days after he first suggested registering Muslims and shutting down mosques, and the same week that a protester got roughed up at one of his rallies—he was strangely disconnected from politics. It was business as usual inside Trump Tower, and he broke off the interview right in the middle to give me a call.

After he bragged that he had "destroyed" Ben Carson ("I had to do it"), he was off on a conversation very much like the one I wrote about in my editor's letter two months ago. Here's how it ended this time:

"Yeah. So good to talk to you, man. So good. Hey, call me, like, in Florida or something; we'll play. You know, I have Doral, I have Palm Beach, so whenever you're down there, call me and we'll play, okay? Or you'll play with some friends. But call me, okay? You take care of yourself, David. Have a good time, thanks."

This is not a man who is planning to occupy the White House. This is not the man who personifies the rage that is rippling through our culture. When you talk with Donald, you get the distinct impression that he's enjoying this other person, this fellow named Donald Trump, out there tuning up the rubes.
A Few Words About Esquire's February Cover Star, Donald Trump

It is the typical lefty whistling past the graveyard, "Donald Trump and large numbers of the American people are stupid and will not get what they want".

COnsidering that it sounds like Trump gave these guys access it will be interesting to see how he deals the label "hater in chief" along with the menacing Time Mag OJ style cover art, not to mention what ever is in the meat of the piece.

Esquire type articles remind me of those bad science fiction movies. The ones in which the alien or monster will feed off the radiation if an A bomb is dropped on it and grow stronger.

They call Trump a litany of names...attack his supporters as dumb and they expect what? People will go 'OK, I guess I'm stupid and will now support Rubio'. Nope. Trump just grows in stature.

No.

It is hard for me to invision a civil war in modern America. We may "fight" on the internet but Americans are way too comfortable for actual war.

How many people can HONESTLY say they know someone close who personally worked with Donald Trump?

I can. A close friend of mine worked with DT in NewYork for many years.

He IS NOT A CONSERVATIVE. He is a showman and has an extra large ego (surprise right?)

Unless he has miraculously changed his ideology, he is hoodwinking those on the right.

DT is loyal to DT. Whatever advances his personal agenda is where he'll go.

That said, he probably wouldn't be the disaster that Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders would bring.

The thread is about Trump.
Trump supported Hillary but then as a businessman it probably pays to support corrupt politicians like Hillary who will reward contributors.

It is not just Esquire and the "journalists", the elite as a class call Trump and his supporters names, openly mock them, openly disrespect them and their opinions. It is part of the elite program of people and their opinions only count when they behave and believe as they are supposed to.

and yes, dismissing and disregarding a huge segment of the American people during an election drives even more people into Trumps arms, and accounts for a lot of why those who already with Trump say they will never leave him no matter what.
