Hello!

I was wandering aimlessly around the internet when I saw a sign for this place, so I figured I'd swing by here and see what's going on. Since I'm pretty much brand new here, I s'pose I'll buy the next round, and then maybe we can all get to know each other a little bit better...

Politically, I may be well beyond categorization, and perhaps in a state of flux. These days I generally describe myself as a "recovering libertarian."

I've not yet wandered the long corridors or peaked into all the nooks and crannies here at DP, so please bear with me while I get used to your names, faces and opinions. Years ago I played in other online debate forums and I did enjoy the stuff then, so now maybe I'll have another go at it.

This is the best debate forum I've found. We have our trolls and our spammers, but we generally manage to keep things under control, more than can be said for most of the internet. Happy trails!

I really don't see my recovery from libertarianism as falling off of a fence on one side or another. But let's just say that my distrust of big government was met--and perhaps even surpassed--by my distrust of big corporations. What was sold to me as capitalism turned out to be its ugly stepchild, consumerism. More to follow in due time and topics...
