In today's politics, many ideas are split between and even within all the political parties. Often we find ourselves agreeing on one platform but some topics break our mold. Hello everyone! Op here!

I have come in search of passionate individuals who are eager to start a new political party with me, and am anxious to see the many diverse inputs on the views I take towards certain topics. :)

Now to share a bit about myself before I dive into this here forum!

Generally speaking, I don't subscribe to any kind of political ideology or movement in particular, simply because I've come to realize over the years that opinions are opinions, and that the worlds people try to build around those opinions do not exactly match with the reality of things. When it comes to hard-fact issues such as economics and welfare, it is vital that a leader recognizes the need to look toward many systems and choose the most effective one in resolving the crisis at hand. Anything less of that could potentially result in unintended consequences and inefficiencies, even worsening the problem in some cases. As for more philosophical and social issues, such as equality and expression, it is important to be open-minded and lenient in those areas as they do not wield the same urgency as the concrete issues of poverty, violence, and the like.

As a result, my personal and universal ideals tend to conflict with one another. If I could point to one person that mirrors that idea, that would be Voltaire. "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." Don't be surprised when I say I love/hate one thing, only to say I support it just a few sentences later. That brings me to my next little knack of understanding both sides of an argument. I could argue for any side regardless of my own personal stance and make it seem reasonable even for the most absurd of stances. (Though that may change as I delve deeper into this here forum  )

Anyways, that's my introduction! I look forward to meeting everyone soon

Hi and welcome to DP. I think you will like it here. And this is definitely the time to join.

Welcome. Take any empty chair and have a seat.

Welcome to DP!

Political Cartoons are a great place to hide when it gets heated in certain forums.
There are many other forums that are fun and interesting and not so political.
Sports are great also, but ...

Read the rules--the board is moderated well.
Try to get in on a new thread as soon as it pops by watching SPY.

Lately, I've found more solace speaking with those who I don't agree with much on the issues, but that I respect .
