• This is a political forum that is non-biased/non-partisan and treats every person's position on topics equally. This debate forum is not aligned to any political party. In today's politics, many ideas are split between and even within all the political parties. Often we find ourselves agreeing on one platform but some topics break our mold. Hello DebatePolitics!

Ü

Übermensch

Hi DebatePolitics. I am joining here today in hope of becoming more knowledgable of political issues and further discussing them with peers. I have always been interested in joining a political forum, and after browsing this [forum] for a few minutes, this seems very a) civil and b) active. Before anything else, I should introduce myself.

My name is Blake, and I was born and am still living in Georgia (USA). My "inherited" political views were far-right because my parents were Republican. After becoming interested in politics years later I became a right-leaning libertarian. Fast forward until about now, I became a progressive liberal. I am supporting Bernie Sanders for President, although I don't agree with everything he has said, he fits my views closest, and seems to be consistent in his views throughout the years. I also might add I chose my username because I enjoy philosophical literature, such as Nietzsche.

Thanks for reading,

Blake ;)

Welcome to DP!

I was hoping you chose the name because you had an idea for a German Superman :)
I'm a bit of a snarky one more times than not but welcome. You've had quite and interesting road in your political leanings.

Welcome, if that's what you say to someone who declares themself to be a ubermensch.

I recommend you spend some time with the rules and also the guidelines. After that have at em.

I do have to say though, you are the reverse of the usual spectrum, usually we are left wing in our your and begin moving to the right with the reality of working for a living

I like liberals in the sense originally meant by the term. On the other hand Nietzsche and Übermensch indicate that "progressive" means quite the opposite of the old fashioned word used to. We shall see. Have fun here and I look forward to our debates.
