It varies. Many days you can get in a good conversation or debate with an intelligent and civil person of opposing view.
Other days, the partisan hacks are all running in circles screaming like Chicken Little.
It's been a bit of a zoo lately due to all the controversial issues coming to a head before the Prez election, but it will settle down a good bit after November.

There is definitely your usual spread of loons and hacks, but there are some real debaters, too. A tip I picked up is that if you show the hacks you are interested in honest debate and willing to change your mind when appropriate, even many of them are capale of true debate.
There are blessedly few grammar freaks. I even try to control my impulses, which can be very hard when a good point is ruined by mispelling basic words and using sentence fractures.
Omniscience just sucks without omnipotence!
