Forgive my drunken spiel. I often only participate in online chats if i'm sh!tfaced!! lol.

Actually just months before the United States was Founded in 1776.. so was the Order of the Illuminati. By one Adam Weishaupt. It was founded upon independent thought.. not upon Christianity.

Yet as time goes on it becomes even more forbidden for anyone to go against the grain. It becomes more socially and politically unacceptable for any layman to think independently.

I DO appreciate your character as you ARE tolerant. That's admirable no matter what your creed.

ok... i guess what i meant by "founded on" was the original colonies before the declaration of independance in 1776. That did say we were an independant nation. But before then we were a Christian society... eventually we losened up to all... but the seperatists and puratins only came for Christianity and not Englands church

People came to the US to be free of tyrrany and every form of indoctrination wether it be religious, social and/or political. Yet what have we become as a nation? Like religion... who teaches us to be "god fearing"... we have been showed to be afraid.. to contol us. To herd us like sheep. No fear. There is hope for you.

Fear is the mindkiller. I will face my fear. I will confront it and allow it to pass through me. Once the fear is gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Yes, for every reason. But the puritans were not wanting to have to go to america. They wanted to purify the church from within... to make it Christian. They were Christian. But they could not do so for "the church was to corrupt" so they went with the seperatists... We are a christian nation which then on the mayflower became a independant nation but all settlers were Christian for a very long time... through generation though they became more and more independant

You should join my forum so my members actually get a good debate and not just the dumb old pat eachother on the back, and call it a debate thing... lol... (most of them are strong christians with my views so we would love for someone NOT of my faith to join so that it is a debate site lol) they want it and I want it for them lol... please consider joining

How is Atheism dumb? Atheism promotes using your brain and relying on facts, something Christianity shuns. I suggest you do some research about your "savior"... you'll find that everything Jesus has supposedly done was done by someone else before him. He was NOT the first person born of a virgin, NOT the first person to walk on water, NOT the first person to die and be resurrected three days later, etc.

I don't think Atheism is dumb. I think it's cold and creates a fear that is very uncomfortable to most people. It elucidates the possibility that once you die.. you're just dead and there is nothing more beyond. That very well could be the case.

However.. we rise from ash. Yet Christ was a martyr. Nothing more. People follow his celebrity as if they were sheep being hearded by a shepard with wild eyes.. determined to make them believe what he believes.

The truth is we all feel the warm fuzzies.. the reassurance that what we believe is right and just. However dealing with justice, truth, and what is right in the world can only be handled on a day to day basis. People make choices and they don't look back. What is done is done. Jesus Christ was nothing more than a martyr. He's done. Let us get over it. As in a hundred years from now society will be over Paris Hilton... and yet another even more spoiled, egotistical, and ridiculous sack of horse poo will take her place as the savior of society. lol

I agree that the figure of 'Jesus' in the bible is mythical. Terefore you cannot say '2008' years after his birth. He never was born, and his martyrdom is a legend.

But we have to respect that this mythical figure influencend the religious world since the first century – more than every historical ancient person.
