You can clean up a pile of dead Christians with the pitchfork. |

And besides, if you do it the old fashioned way, you don't have to clean up the dead Christians. You just have to make sure the lions are hungry enough when you turn them loose on the Christians... |

"Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word: equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude."
What allows you to equate socialsim with restraint and servitude?
What allows you to oppose democracy (a political order) with socialism (an economic order)?
Your tagline is nonsense. |

How about burning the houses of Congress and blaming it on the opposition? There's a precedent for that... |

My answer works equally well in this scenario as it does in the the reverse. That's because theology should not be discussed in science class. |
Your question is precise, "Can the teacher honestly say that there is no eveidence to suggest this?" and the answer is equally precise, "Yes, the teacher can say there is no evidence to suggest this."
The teacher could go on to say that it is also impossible to disprove... but that being unable to disprove a thesis in no way proves the antithesis.
Teachers shouldn't run away from these questions. "Geological, astronomical and biological evidence all agree that the world must be billions of years old. That evidence is overwhelming. If a person chooses to believe that their god created the world more recently, and in doing so created at the same time the 'evidence' of billion-year age, then of course there can be no argument. That is the difference between faith and science. Science requires proof; faith not only does not need proof, but can negate any proof that is contrary to it. This is a science class, so we shall continue to examine proof, and the theories that fit that proof. Faith-based constructs do not belong here." |
