And Is belief that the garden of Eden was in the center of the American continent any less plausible(given the lack of details in Genesis) or crazy (ask Cephus) than belief it was in Mesopotamia or Africa or that it even existed. Is this
As someone who lives in the KC area, and has been into and through Independence, Missouri no telling how many times, I can tell you that if that hole was Eden then getting thrown out after eating from the fruit of knowledge was a blessing.

Re: Mormon for Prez...Why not Atheist?

Very few of you seem to think people should be judged on their individual merits.

MLK might've been talking about race, but it applies to religion too.

The right person for the job? NO WAY! He thinks Jesus was just a man!? I'M not voting for HIM!

Seperatist bastards. Go have another civil war if you're that stupid.

The US is a SECULAR country (say it with me now, SEK-YOU-LAR), do you understand what that word means?

Re: Mormon for Prez...Why not Atheist?

“Even after Resident Bible Bonehead Bush, the worst as well the most religious "leader" we've ever had, the idea of an atheist (or even just non-religious) in office would make most Americans gasp in horror. And just why? Considering the anti-christian hell that the "Christian nations" of the US and others have made of the world, we desperately need the rationality and freedom from superstition of well-educated secular humanists and other non-religious.” – Joe Hill

"Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers." - John Jay, First Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, February 28, 1797

Something to consider this election year…

Cannot an atheist President do more good for his People and Enlightenment Constitution than any bonehead believer such as Bush or Mckinley?

Re: Mormon for Prez...Why not Atheist?

"but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States." 10th amd.

But is this not what were doing by knowing the politicians religious views anyways? A lot of people will vote for one pres candidate over another because of there religious views and who they may put into the supreme court. By knowing the candidates religious views is in a way a religious test, but by the entire nation. It should not matter, my being an athiest should have nothing to do with my running for office. If I was one of the political candidates I never would had showen up in the first place to the, rally, questionare or what ever you call it, with the church in the first place.

He's obviously a mountebank or the new term "a Colbert". No one smart enough to get on the net (which doesn't take much I admit) could be that ignorant. Don't get me wrong, I've met a few but they are mountain folk, over 50, who still have a corded phone and a TV antennae and barely even understand what a computer is.

There can be no return to democracy in a nation that has abandoned the line between church and state to become a nation that abides religion-based, unprovoked war, i.e., not without an ideological revolution and a return to the natural philosophy which gave democracy birth. America has ultimately only one choice, to get intelligent and to get real... about our values, our beliefs and ideologies and our operational policies in a global world. He does not believe who does not live according to his belief: Thomas Fuller
You think that Bush is the most religious president that we have ever had?
I am sorry, I simply can't wate any more time reading you post...
