Church has "Open Carry" Gun Celebration

Bless these guns!

Yuck, I don't get it. Not something you'd think have anything to do with church and Christian love. Read the article and see the brief filmed interview. This kind of stuff makes Kentucky look like a bunch of backward hillbillies and I am not sure what this says about Christian beliefs.

Reporter- "What does this have to do with church?"

Pastor- "Why not a church?" "......Without a strong belief in guns, this country wouldn't be here."

Consider it a warning then: Don't come to this church thinking you're going to mass-murder a bunch of unarmed victims!

My church sponsored a concealed-carry permit class for those who were intrested, and anyone with a permit is allowed to carry in the church.

Considering the way wackos are going for churches to commit their mass-murders lately, it isn't a bad idea.

It's a sucky sort of thing when a church has to put up a sign "Don't check your guns at the door".

And you never will "get it." Christians should never have guns because....

It has nothing to do with church and Chrsitian love. It has to do with the church being a center for the community, it is there for more than just worship.

How bigoted of you.

It does not say anything about Christians, other than "we are not victims."

I guess I won't get it. I thought the concept for a Christian church was to work toward being Christ-like and move toward loving one another. You know, the whole pro-life thing.

So what would be the answer to What Would Jesus Have Carried?

Re: Church has "Open Carry" Gun Celebration

Which quotation, Luke 22:36, is in my sig line for this very reason: it is annoying that people who clearly know little about Christianity are always telling us what we're supposed to be and do.

Can't promote Christianity if you're dead, but nevermind that point, people have a right and an obligation to protect the lives of their families. When I take self defense into consideration, I do it more for my family than I do for myself.
