Moderator's Warning: Tess and Hazlnut, take it downstairs if you would like to carry on your feud. If not please get back on topic.

Its really a Christmas tree as that is what it is being intended to be by the people putting it up. It is there to celebrate Christmas and what it represents. It is not there to celebrate any of the other holidays and was not intended for such reasons. It is NOT a holiday tree.
That means that if the state puts up a tree and its intended for a certain holiday it is what it is called under its intended holiday and that is a Christmas tree. Anything else is illogical.

No. It's whatever whoever puts it up says it is.
If whoever puts it up says it's a Christmas tree then it's a Christmas tree.
If whoever puts it up says it's a Holiday tree then it's a Holiday tree.
If whoever puts it up says it's a Hanukkah bush then it's a Hanukkah bush.
If whoever puts it up says it's a Yule tree then it's a Yule tree.
Also, we need to legalize recreational drugs and prostitution.

Whenever I put up a Christmas Tree I think of it as a Christmas Tree, but that doesn't stop me from knowing the tradition came from a pagan religion. I think it's a great tradition and I see no issue with a mixing of religions. It's roughly akin to the Celtic knotwork on a cross. I have a Lord Ganesh on my desktop, a Buddha on the dresser, a dreamcatcher over the bed, and a cross on my keychain. It all makes perfect sense to me.
