Bad news for anyone looking to relocate to our neighbor to the north after last night’s election results: Canada doesn’t want you.

After Americans—and especially American celebrities—began considering making good on their promises to “move to Canada” in the wake of Donald Trump election victory, Canadians took to Twitter to warn Americans that they’d best stay where they are.

This. Also STEM degrees? Welcome aboard. You can keep the humanities majors though.

Lena Dunham is not my definition of a skilled worker

Hell... You took our dopers and draft dodgers before.

Dopers? True?

It makes sense that Canada granted asylum to some draft-dodgers who had run out of options. Canada, after all, saw the war for what it was. It just took most Americans kinda long to catch up. So yes, Canada gave some of the brighter Americans a helping hand. Which wasn't needed by the many chickenhawk draft-dodgers --- Dick Cheney, Donald Trump, etc. --- who never needed to go anywhere, and stayed nice and comfy at home.

As a Canadian what strikes me repeatedly is Americans' blithe assumption that they can just up and go wherever they want whenever they feel like it.

So: sorry US liberals. You'll just have to stay home and fight.

Anyway, apart from the twitter-nonsense that started this thread, I have yet to hear of any Americans even trying. But that's just me.
