State dinners with foreign leaders is a completely different argument (still not sure I would agree to it tho). These people, and I imagin a large portion of those that attend such parties, do not fit into that catagory.

Tareq Salahi, maintaining that he had e-mails that support his claim, said, "I am certain we will be completely exonerated."

Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary, said in a televised interview this morning that there was no way to view this incident other than as an unauthorized intrusion.

"This wasn't a misunderstanding," Gibbs said in an interview aired by MSNBC this morning. "You don't show up at the White House as a misunderstanding."

I'll bet this is going to prove an Administration inside job. It will be an embarrasment for the President who's spokesmen will then throw the SS under the bus (which happened immediately anyway).

One or more staffers helped these people through security. And while the SS has to eat it, someone will quietly be dismissed from their staff position while the driveby media tries to ignore the details.
