Obama really has dropped the ball on vetting his nominees. Cheese and rice!

Tax evasion is a big problem. I see commercials for tax relief companies where people boast of owing 80 grand and settling for 14 grand.

Collecting and disbursing government money is a big part of the economy. I wouldn't go so far as to say that he "heads the economy," but he definitely has considerable influence.

Daschle, on the other hand, is not irreplaceable. He's a great advocate for health care reform with lots of friends on the hill...but there are plenty of other people who meet those qualifications as well, who hopefully DON'T owe back taxes.

No one is irreplaceable and using that as an excuse to have a double standard is specious. This is the change Americans deserved.
