The Republican party has implemented a voter caging plan aimed at people (mostly black) in Detroit who got foreclosed on.

People have lost, or are losing, their homes, and now others are going after their right to vote? The GOP are some pretty cold blooded bastards, aren't they? Yup, cold as ice.

The lawsuit seeks an injunction barring Michigan or Macomb County Republicans from using foreclosure lists to challenge voters. It was unclear Tuesday when the suit would be heard.

Bob Bauer, the top lawyer for the Obama campaign, described the Macomb report as "standard operating procedure for the Republican Party."

He and Michigan Democratic Party Chairman Mark Brewer said they did not believe statements by Carabelli and other Republicans that there was no plan to challenge foreclosed homeowners, citing what they called previous Republican efforts to illegally challenge voters in other states, and reports from Ohio that Republican officials there also have suggested they could use foreclosure lists.

But they offered no evidence beyond the disputed article that Macomb County or Michigan Republicans are planning such challenges based on home foreclosures.

So, a local paper runs a story, the GOP people in question deny it, there's no evidence beyond the paper's story that it's true, the case may not even make it to the courts, but it MUST be true?

Come on. If you believe it, fine. But least report the thing accurately.

Some reporter wrote a story about the GOP denying citizens the right to vote and the GOP denies it is doing that. The reporter is obviously lying.

By the way, did you here that Obama is in talks with Iraq and asking them to not pull any troops out before the election? The NYPost has an article on it...Now that's something we need to keep an eye on!

There's no evidence beyond that story that it's happening, and if you'll look in that other thread, you'll see where I say flat out that you need more evidence than just that one story.

But if you look in that thread (in the Partisan Politics forum), you'll also see where I posted a link to where the Obama campaign confirms that the conversation did indeed take place.
