So lets put this into perspective, the VP canidate on the republican side came in just shy of the obama's speech.

I guess his popularity is put into perspective here.

In fact, it came close to upsetting Obama's historic address last Thursday -- the most-watched convention speech in history (38.4 million viewers).

I guess Obama isn't such a popular candiadte after all. Especially considering he only got half of the popular vote within his party. McCain on the other hand blew away the competition. I wonder how many undecided voters made up there mind after Sarah "Barracuda" Palins speech.

The GOP candidates were slim-pickins'. If an ex first lady campaigned for the GOP against McCain, there's no way his win would have been so decisive.
