If anyone had doubts of whether McCain made a savvy choice for his VP running mate, no one is going to be wondering anymore. Initial consensus of political pundits is that she delivered an exceptional speech. She will still be seen as very weakly experienced at the national and world level, but her net value is rather obvious.

But, are we sure that it was actually John's decision to pick her? Whatever. At the end of the day, she is his running mate. That's all that matters.
