Sarah Palin supported Ketchikan ‘bridge to nowhere’ during 2006 race for Alaska Gov.

newsminer.com • Sarah Palin supported Ketchikan ‘bridge to nowhere’ during 2006 race for Alaska governor

Quote:
“I championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress,” Palin said at her first campaign appearance. “In fact, I told Congress — I told Congress, ‘Thanks, but no thanks,’ on that bridge to nowhere. If our state wanted a bridge, I said we’d build it ourselves.”

That is not how Palin described her position on the Gravina Island bridge when she ran for governor in 2006.

On Oct. 22, 2006, the Anchorage Daily News asked Palin and the other candidates, “Would you continue state funding for the proposed Knik Arm and Gravina Island bridges?”

Her response: “Yes. I would like to see Alaska’s infrastructure projects built sooner rather than later. The window is now — while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist.”

Palin’s support of the earmark for the bridge was applauded by the late Lew Williams Jr., the retired Ketchikan Daily News publisher who wrote columns on the topic.

Williams wrote on Oct. 29, 2006, that Palin was the only gubernatorial candidate that year who consistently supported the Gravina Island Bridge, the Knik Arm Bridge and improvements to the Parks Highway.
Is this an issue?

...could you point them out? I just found this out. I took her word on that bridge thing considering her 'long' history of fighting earmarks.

Why are you accusing me of trolling?

If you don't like opinions on political candidates running for office, don't have one.

Because the thread isn't about Obama. Keep up.

Let me explain what trolling is through the wonders of Wikipedia :

Troll (Internet) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Quote:
An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial and irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.[2]
Describes you right now.

Every single thread regarding candidates for president, regardless of flavor or the micro issue it intends to focus on, serves the ultimate purpose making that candidate look better or worse than his/her political opponent.

This thread is no different.

You could go on at length about Sara's alleged support for the bridge to nowhere, paint her as either mis-quoted or a hypocrite as you desire, and my 2 cents on this micro issue would not change: It doesn't matter. Her support for the bridge to nowhere doesn't matter.

She could be in full support of fully funding the bridge to nowhere, and she would still be the better choice, because the other choice supports something far worse than wasting millions of tax dollars.

It seems that your feelings are simply hurt because I didn't jump on and validate your interest on the issue. All I'm saying is I don't care about this issue, and I suggest that no one else should either, so if you think that's trolling then you can just report away.

In other words you don't like the fact that I called out your recent trolling on threads that have nothing to do with Obama? Or is it that you're trying to act like you're in the right about trolling? Either way I seriously couldn't care. If you're too chicken sh!t to act like an adult about an issue which you seem to forget has nothing to do with Obama then that's not my fault. Act like a little child and cry about not being allowed to troll. If you don't care about the issue hey listen there is an [X] at the top of your gas powered screen. You can click it any time and leave the site if you aren't interested about discussing some issues.
