It's just a rally now? That's disappointing. I thought/hoped he was having an entire "alternate convention." Preferably one that would make the maximum amount of noise and be as obnoxious as possible.

If u clicked on the vid (top left) on the link I gave above... they gave an interview with Ron Paul and the interviewer started off with 'thousands r attending the rally'... have a look. Ron Paul also discusses Obama and McCain policies.

Yes, in the Ron Paul vid interview, Ron Paul did mention it is a counter-convention. Ron Paul is happy to hear Palin's favorable comments about him as well

There r many who r sick of the 2 party system and love having a 3rd choice Don't forget Ron Paul gathered $4.2 million donations in just 1 day (a record I think no political candidate this election has beaten yet). Even when the Republicans announced Palin, they only had a $3 million donations in 1 day for their site.

btw the 'hundreds' have now swelled to 'thousands' in the vid interview. Just give it some time

I tried debating issues with Ron Paul fanatics a few times, during the primary season. Inevitably, one is A) called a George Bush clone, B) accused of not paying attention to politics and choosing to have the wool pulled over one's eyes, C) followed around by fanatics from thread to thread who make the same point in every thread, and D) accused of being on the payroll of the Democrats, the Republicans, the corporations, the media, or Darth Vader.

In the end, I concluded that attempting to debate issues with most Ron Paul supporters was a lost cause. Never mud wrestle with a pig; you both get dirty, but the pig enjoys it.

Well I am cool with some of his ideas, but I think that privatizing all public lands would just be a national disgrace. While I think that Glacier National Park would make some very expensive vacation property, I also have this concept that most Americans have of National Treasures.

I find his return to the Gold Standard to be a throwback to a century ago, believe his foreign policy is just naive at best, and believe if anything the government does have a role in terms of public health issues and environmental protection.

He is the kind of guy that has some great points, but taken in his entirety is just unacceptable.
