Most oppose bid to ban gay marriage in California

The proposition to ban gay marriage in California is losing badly (by 14%). Looks like California will vote down this horrible proposition and show the rest of the country that California has grown up and understands that discrimination in any form is wrong.

But there is still not majority support in the state for allowing gays to marry.

As useful as such polls are, there is only one poll that really matters, and that is still about nine weeks away.

What the results of this poll seem to indicate, however, is that even though Californian's are evenly split about whether they approve of gay marriage or not, a large majority believe that they shouldn't impose their own personal beliefs on the rights of others.

And yet this happens every single day in Congress - both at the state level and at the federal level. Your theory is shot full of holes again.

And BTW, a majority of Californians already supported and voted last year. Of course an activist judge put a stop to that because we can't have the will of the people ruling the land, that would be undemocratic.

Wow, I can't believe the majority of voters weren't swayed by the argument "Gays already have the right marry, they can marry members of the opposite sex." That was, like, such a clincher.

Well....of course you are WRONG.....the last election on this issue in California was almost a decade ago....not last year.....nice try though.

I apologize, it was in 2000. But my point remains valid, a majority of Californians oppose gay marriage. It has taken the liberal judges in California to undo the will of the people. Another defeat for democracy, congratulations California!!!

As already noted, the majority support the right to gay marriage.

You're wrong again. The state is evenly split about their feelings towards gay marriage. And the polls, at least at this point, indicate that even many of those opposed to gay marriage feel that it is wrong to impose their belief on the rights of others.
