I think probably at least 1/2 are probably moderate Republicans.
But....that aside. .. If you followed California law you would know that the California Supreme Court is VERY conservative. They pass all kinds of wacko laws here that are completely out of sync with the electorate. If it were left to majority rule, California would be much much MUCH more liberal that our Courts have suggested. |

This I am sure of no social conservative would ever vote for gay marriage...... |

But there is no legitimate reason behind the law which ultimately is what is going to be the death knell of your hopes and dreams regarding the issue. Even the most conservative constitutional scholars have written that gay marriage restrictions have an uphill battle to fight against constitutional challenges.
The times...they are a changin' (like it or not). |

If you don't want to take my word....look at their record over the last 10 years...its rather scary considering the fact that the electorate is pretty liberal. Just shows you what Republican Governors and judicial right-wing activism can do to thwart the will of the people.
I only WISH that the voters of California could vote on even 1/10 of the things that the California Supreme Court has ruled on..... |
