Re: Voters to Decide Same-sex Marriage in California

The way I see it, if Californians want it on the ballot, and they collect the required number of signatures to do it, then I have no problem with it. Whether it is ultimately voted up or down, that is the business of the people of California, and none of the business of the Federal government.

No, you'll whine about how the liberal whackos in California just doomed their state (and possibly the rest of the country) to an orgy of polygamy, bestiality, pedophilia.

Since my argument has never been based around the "will of the people" or any other stupid nonsense like that, there's nothing hypocritical in my rejecting the opinion of intolerant dumb****s, even if they comprise 51% of the vote.

But in the case of California the point is moot, because the amendment will almost certainly be defeated by a wide margin.

I was just making the point that the people who actually fought for equal rights for blacks, probably wouldn't have been too keen about gay marriage. Supporters of gay marriage often point to the civil rights struggle for blacks when making a case for gay marriage. I feel that may be offensive to blacks.

On the gay marriage issue? You ARE no better than an angry bigot with a firehose in your hand. And no, I'm not exaggerating to make a point. That is exactly what you are. Hopefully in a few decades, you'll look back on your bigoted views and cringe, just as ex-segregationists do today.
OK wise guy.

Hosed?

When was the last time you saw a homosexual or homosexual couple get...

My Uncle who was white, lived in privileged neighborhood, and fought for civil rights in the 60's pro bono also supported gay rights going into the 21st century. He is dead now but his children and relatives continue.

I don't give a damn who it offends. The comparison is valid, and if some advocates of black civil rights have a problem with it, then they're hypocritical Uncle Toms and can go **** themselves.
