This should come as no surprise to any of us here. I think she knew it was over long ago, it was just a matter of stepping down.

"Hillary Rodham Clinton will concede Tuesday night that Barack Obama has the delegates to secure the Democratic nomination, campaign officials said, effectively ending her bid to be the nation's first female president."

But this was interesting:
"The former first lady will stop short of formally suspending or ending her race in her speech in New York City."

The campaign is over but she seems to be leaving open the option to come back.

Clinton not ready to concede race, her campaign chair says

I wonder who the source is that broke the story that she was going to concede. It's a little disconcerting to see this kind of misinformation going around.

Good.

Many people are finding out that Obama is unelectable for reasons unrelated to race.

HRC was the Dems' best bet.

I think the Dems are banking on the concept that McCain has fallen far from grace and that they could nominate a paper clip and beat him in a national race.

And they just may be right.

Looks like the AP may have got it wrong. The next few days will be very interesting.

Indeed they will. I wish we could have a legitimate election for once without media spin or misinformation like this. I'm an Obama supporter, but it's a bit annoying to see nothing but Obama ads on television here. I have yet to see one Hillary or even McCain ad, which is surprising considering how conservative Montana is.

The AP just changed the title of the report:

"Clinton to concede delegate race when Obama clinches"

Also added this:
"The former first lady was not ready to formally suspend or end her race in a speech Tuesday night in New York City. But if Obama get to the magic number of delegates, 2,118, she was prepared to acknowledge that milestone, according to aides who declined to be identified."

McCain does not need to run adds in Montana.....He will win that state in a breeze..........

So she will concede when he has the necessary delegates? Of course she would do that. He would do that if she had the necessary delegates. How is that even newsworthy? Something is obviously messed up in the reporting process there. Either someone made a mistake or they don't fact check their news stories and someone is trying to sabotage Clinton's campaign.

When has cocky arrogance like that ever paid off?

I call it being confident........You said it yourself....Montan is a very Conservative state.........It would never vote for a big Liberal like Obama.........

Montana is typically a conservative state. However, right now we have a liberal governor and a liberal senator. I'd say it's pretty much anyone's game at this point, which is why I don't understand the cocky arrogance. Confidence has nothing to do with it.

I still think Hillary has some big blockbuster scandal up her sleeve against Obama............

The man cannot spell loyalty

When has cocky arrogance like that ever paid off?

Remember Guliani and Florida?

He used to be NP's pick, but as history has shown; NP only cares about he who has the best chance of winning.

I don't know why I ask, when I already know you've got nothing...

I still think Hillary has some big blockbuster scandal up her sleeve against Obama............

And you think that because? Whats your reason?

Because I know the Clintons.............If they did not have something they would have conceded already.........

It's a very slim margin and a lot can change by the time election day rolls around. In fact, that's really the only poll that's going to matter and decide a winner. You can keep up your arrogance if you want, though. I just found it kind of silly when nothing is set in stone yet and it's still anyone's guess as to who can actually win.

I watched the news while eating lunch today, and the pundits where talking. The idea they presented, which does sound reasonable, is that Clinton will hold out as long as she can to increase her bargaining power(for VP/cabinet post). If she stays in much past this week though, her bargaining power will actually go down. With that idea in mind, I think there is going to be some major nogotiations going on between Clinton and Obama over the next couple days.
