The Swift Boating of John McCain has now begun, in the same state that sank him in 2000 with the "McCain sired an illegitimate black baby" smear that allowed Bush to secure the nomination that year. This time, the stories are even worse - that he gave up valuable information to the North Vietnamese.

I am not a McCain fan by any means, but damn it, my blood is really boiling right now. Somebody needs to boil these idiot slimeballs in their own slime.

Which is interesting considering that the same people that swift boated McCain in 2000 are the ones that are on McCain's political team today. So just who is swift boating McCain today? The Dems? Romney? Guliani?

I hate the **** mccain gets.It probably is the Ron Paul supporters who have turned into some mad cult.When bill clinton was against bob dole he never treat him with the kinda contempt these *******s did.

Its gonna be funny when some Ron paul supporter ends up not being able to pay his rent because of the massive donnation he made.When he gets chucked out on the street he can comfort himself with knowing he is a victim of a free market.

These people should be executed for treason and slander of one this country's greatest heroes. I might not agree with McCain on much but the man gave more to this country in an hour of his life then most people have given in their lifetimes.

Ron Paul doesn't associate with Swift Boat Liars. He wouldn't let people slander a man's service like this. This is clearly the work of Neo-Cons. Much like the ones who slandered McCains service in 2000 and Kerry's service in 2004.

I think we have seen some good examples of what Paul supporters are capable of and some DPers even talked approvingly of some of their actions.

This kind of **** just makes my blood boil. These are the same scumbags that the Republicans got in bed with in 2004 when they went after John Kerry and his military service. Of course then to many right wingers the attacks were legitimate even though any objective individual could see that it was nothing but slander.

Well, you know when you get in bed with these kind of scumbags it tends to come back and bite you. John McCain endured 5 years of torture living in a box in the Vietnam heat. Five years of it for his country, and now some of those some same sick scumbags that went after Kerry's service are now going after McCain.

I don't need to call anyone out on here, because those of you who supported these douchebags when they were trashing Kerry's service know who you are. I hope you can live with the notion that your douchebag buddies are now trashing the service of John McCain, an American hero. I would would hold a ****ing child molester in higher regard than these scumbags yall were more than happy to buddy up with when they were trashing a highly decorated veteran with a (D) after their name. Well now Hannity's and Limbaugh's piece of **** friends from 2004 are trashing John McCain a man who was tortured for 5 years for his country.

Jerry Kiley and those other scumbags in this ought to be taken out and shot and the bill for the bullets ought to be sent to the pieces of **** like Limbaugh that stooped so low as to back them in 2004.
 
I agree with most of the posters here.....the tactics such as Swift-Boat liars employed is politics at its most rotten core....whether its directed at Democrats....Republicans....or anyone else. Its just sad that some Americans actually listen to their lies....disgusting.

Absolutely wrong. Just horrible. No clue who would be doing this. I don't think it's Ron Paul as this looks like something majorly funded. While, at the moment, I would put almost NOTHING past the support base of Ron Paul I don't think the campaign itself would do something like this and I don't think the base would have enough clout to get something like this going. Outside of that, this could go either way. A democrat group or bigwig thinking that McCain is their biggest opponent so wanting to get rid of him, or a republican seeing him as a threat. Not sure, but either way, its despicable.

Did you read the article? It is not Ron Paul's supporters. Its that same bunch of scumbags that trashed Kerry's service. Democrats don't have anything to do with it. Do you honestly think they would get in bed with the same scum that screwed them out of the presidency in 2004? Come on, no one is stupid enough to believe that.

No, indeed the only people low enough to get in bed with this kind of scum are the Republican establishment party hacks. The ones that accused a sitting president of being a murderer and a rapist. The ones that slandered a highly decorated veteran in 2004 and now their same bunch's scum bag friends are out slandering an American Hero John McCain. Those lying hacks have always hated McCain.

What you should do is call up the radio shows of these lying douchebags like Hannity and Limbaugh tomorrow and ask them when they plan on apologizing to Kerry and McCain for buddying up with this scum that slandered Kerry and is now trying to do the same to McCain.

The candidates are highly visible and, if their slanderous attacks damage the prospects of such candidates, it makes these troubled individuals feel a sense of achievement and power. This sense of achievement and the notoriety it provides them in the media compensates for the insecurity and inadequacy that torments these individuals.

When it comes to the individuals who join such groups as the "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" or the "Vietnam Veterans Against John McCain," one is dealing with individuals who have difficulty dealing with the reality that Senators Kerry and McCain were bonafide war heroes. They resent the well-documented heroism of these public figures. Public recognition of the heroism of these public figures highlights the contrast between the extraordinary efforts of people such as Senators Kerry and McCain during wartime and the far lesser deeds of those who assail them. A resentment-oriented perspective is a bad way to live life. Yet, it is resentment fueled by inadequacy and insecurity that dominates the raison d'etre, if not the lives, of those troubled individuals. From a human perspective, it is sad to see people unable to break free of the psychological troubles that torment them.

From a campaign perspective, the attacked candidates have little choice but to respond decisively to the vicious allegations of those troubled individuals. The only way to deal with these individuals is for the candidates to respond with brutal firmness that discredits these individuals to the largest extent possible so that their misleading message loses its power. Otherwise, the misleading characterizations could proliferate, gain a sense of permanence, and the candidates could wind up being defined by those mischaracterizations.​

You're damn right I would not put it past Hillary or Soros to say "you know, that worked, lets use it" and take the most advantage out of it. You can trick people about Kerry's service, since his service was generally unknown to the general american public.

John McCain's service and time in Vietnam has been in the spotlight for a long time, and the general publics perception of McCain's service is pretty universal.

In other words, this guy just picked on the wrong veteran. You can't sit there and pick apart 5 years in captivity, and McCains leadership while in captivity. This guy will be shown for the scum he is.

Not to mention the fact that the actual words spoken by John Kerry and taped senate hearing footage of him at least put him in a place where republicans and independents were willing to question things about him.

John McCain doesn't have ANYTHING like that...at all...in any way shape or form. I don't agree with him on a number of things, but the last thing I'd EVER think to question about him was his service record.
