Zogby Poll: Hillary Clinton Loses Head-to-Head Matchup Against Every Leading Republican Candidate

UTICA, New York – A new Zogby Interactive survey shows Democrat Hillary Clinton of New York would lose to every one of the top five Republican presidential contenders, representing a reversal of fortune for the national Democratic front–runner who had led against all prospective GOP opponents earlier this year.

Meanwhile, fellow Democrats Barack Obama of Illinois and John Edwards of North Carolina would defeat or tie every one of the Republicans, this latest survey shows.

GO CLINTON GO!!!

GO CLINTON GO!!!

It's still nearly a year before the general election votes are cast. Polls this far out are meaningless.

When the predictions stock markets start selling Clinton - instead of giving her a 48% chance of winning the election outright against the ENTIRE field, as they do now - then maybe I will rethink my support.

But for now, Clinton seems to me to be much more electable than Obama, and much less of a douchebag than Edwards.

Please please please let this poll be true! (Well, to the extent that it's bad news for Hillary. I certainly don't want a Republican president.)

Please please please let this poll be true! (Well, to the extent that it's bad news for Hillary. I certainly don't want a Republican president.)

Hate to burst your bubble, but unless some other poll organisation gets similar results then this poll is nothing but a fluke probally heavily influenced by anti Clinton bias among a very small and selective number of people. As far as I understand it, the poll was conducted among people who subscribe to the Zogby newsletter only and was not per say random or very scientific.

Re: Zogby Poll: Hillary Clinton Loses Head-to-Head Matchup Against Every Leading Repu

I have to laugh at the desparation of some Republicans to scrap for *any* good news, regardless how feeble the source, which they blare it out in bold titles.

Clinton was behind in the Zogby poll, which is an on-line poll.

In *every* statistically based poll, Clinton beats *all* Repbulican contenders.

Sorry.

I think I've been motivated by TOT to post polling information as well ....

Re: Zogby Poll: Hillary Clinton Loses Head-to-Head Matchup Against Every Leading Repu

Well Oprha is apparently willing to pour gobs of cash for her guy Obama. I still find it hard to believe he will get the nomination against Hillary. He is no match for her in the world of politics. But then who is?

lmfao@ the deushes who love polling information to reference the war and Bush approval ratings but when one is brought up that doesn't mesh with their pre-conceived ideas then it must be wrong.

The very same could be said about people who reference polling information like this, but when the war and Bush's approval ratings are brought up it, polling numbers don't seem to matter anymore.

I'll agree that the only poll that matters is the one on election day but that doesn't mean the polls are automatically inaccurate just because I don't agree with the outcomes.

The election day polls matter most only because they have impact. However, to say that other polling numbers don't matter is to blatantly disregard the voices and opinions of American citizens. However, I'll keep this in mind next time we have a Democrat as a President and he/she has low approval ratings. We'll see who brings it up first.

Like I said the only poll that matters (meaning it's the only one that ****ing does anything) is the one on election day at the ballot box, all other polls are essentially meaningless and anyone who governs based on them should be voted out of office, but that does not necessarily mean that polls can't be accurate or that I get to automatically dismiss them as such just because I don't agree with their findings like the Hillary supporters on this board have done.

Good point. Though in comparing accuracy, most would probably agree that an internet poll is much less acurate than a statistically conducted poll.

Sorry this poll that you're citing is older.

Re: Zogby Poll: Hillary Clinton Loses Head-to-Head Matchup Against Every Leading Repu

WHO GIVES A SHIT?!?!?!?!?! Seriously, what the **** does it matter? We're talking about hypothetical match ups in which the margins of victory/defeat are so ****ing small that all it means is that the election is going to be close, which anyone who saw 2000 or 2004 could've ****ing predicted.

What is there to debate? My guys gonna beat your guy? Is there a ****ing point to that? Who the hell cares?!

Usually political arguments on both sides eventually resort to citing poll numbers. In both instances, the other side always acts like it doesn't matter. However, it certainly seems to matter to them when they are citing the poll numbers of the opposite side. I agree with you, though. It's unfortunate that a political discussion has to turn into a partisan popularity contest.

Opinion polls regarding the war and Bush's approval are accurate, because they are a snapshot of where the public stands NOW.

Opinion polls regarding how people will vote next November are NOT accurate. They indicate where the public stands now - before they've really started paying attention to the election - but bear little correlation to how they'll behave 12 months from now.

Furthermore, this poll is an INTERNET poll.
