Personally I think Germany, and Europe in general, has matured enough to be able to tolerate these kinds of political organizations. Banning or disenfranchising them only validates their messages.

Like most Americans who've spent time in Germany (across the American political spectrum) I think they're bizzarely liberal there. It's weird. One family I stayed with gave me a lecture about how I shouldn't pee standing up, because it's sexist. I figured they were just weird...but no, disscussion with a variety of people confirmed that there is in fact a campaign to strongly discourage men from peeing while standing up. If a little fascism that never actual gains any real power could prevent that kind of **** from happening, I'd be on board.

I think Merkel, Berlusconi and Sarkozy are all pretty comfortable compromises for the European political scene; people who will help guide Europe out of the socialist malaise it's dug itslef into.

Germany now is not the same Germany. I'm not supporting the far right parties other then to say that they should have the same right to assemble and express their beleifs as everyone else.

Sure they should. What I am arguing against is them having any part in any government. I have no problem with them having freedom of speech etc etc. I have a problem with them having an actual role within a government.
