Kids that young don't know what rape is, they certainly do not exhibit the malice or violence, nor predatory instinct we all assosciate with rape.

I think the point the kids father made about the girl not crying rape until her mother found out will ring true, we are probably dealing with the mothers hang ups here, probably the children were all naked or something and the prudish women has had a panic attack.

it leads me, as an advertising major, not as an America hating communist ******, to the conclusion, that rape sells.

Because it does. I think questioning the motivation behind our fascination with rape is warranted. It's called analyzing bias.

But I'll give a rapeless example. Pick any of the threads concerning Fox. The underlying position of any story (the motivation behind it, how it was framed, where it was slanted, ETC) will be analyzed at length. But I'm a troll because I use the same approach, albeit with some flare, to a different topic.

Questions are beginning to come out regarding the veracity of the alleged victim's story.
Admittedly, this is from some sort of far-right commentator.
However, there is a picture of the girl (who has apparently waived confidentiality and is giving media interviews on CNN) which confirm my suspicion that she is as large as an adult, causing me to question all over again how a 3 and a half foot tall, 40 pound eight-year-old with a broken arm could've forced her into the woods, let alone raped her, all without a weapon.
There are also additional elements that have come to light, for instance that the victim is now claiming she was not alone with the boys at the time of the attack; a girlfriend was there with her.

The second link contains the following statement by the chief investigator:

"In the story, one of the boys' fathers said that if there was sex between his son and the girl, it was consensual.

When asked for a response, incredibly, Police Chief Michael Wilkie of Acworth (pictured) told CNN that because children that young cannot legally consent to sex, "we have to go with the charges we have"--in other words, the rape charges.


This is beginning to seem more and more like a statutory or "age of consent" issue.
If this is actually the way they intend to play it, I seriously doubt it will even make it to trial, let alone result in convictions of the boys.
If it was indeed consensual, we have a girl the size of a grown woman having consensual sex with a considerably younger boy approximately the size of a toddler, with a broken arm to boot.
Yet the boy is the "guilty party" because he's male, and the female is the "innocent victim" because she's female.
Preposterous.
This garbage will never make it to trial.
The mother of the erstwhile "victim" ought to be horsewhipped for trying to destroy these children's lives.
