Barry Bonds Indicted
By PAUL ELIAS | Associated Press Writer

SAN FRANCISCO - Barry Bonds, baseball's home run king, was indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice Thursday and could go to prison instead of the Hall of Fame for telling a federal grand jury he did not knowingly use performance-enhancing drugs.

The indictment, culminating a four-year investigation into steroid use by elite athletes, charged Bonds with four counts of perjury and one of obstruction of justice. If convicted, he could be sentenced to a maximum of 30 years in prison.

The stench was overwhelming. Hit the showers Barry.

I shot pool with his father down in Palm Springs during spring break when I was 9 years old. The Giants were in town to play the California Angels and they checked into the same hotel I was in with my mother and a friend. He was very nice to me. I can't say the same for his son. I never met him. Can't say I would ever want too.

It's about time.

Good, may this keep him out of the Hall of Fame for good!

I have just one word to say about this whole affair:

*

incompetent and corrupt politicians across party lines thank you for directing your attention to this inane crap.

could a black guy kill some dogs?

1) What does Michael Vick have to do with Barry Bonds?

2) Perjury and obstruction of justice are not "inane crap", as you call it. I saw you had no problem giggling with glee when Scooter Libby went down. Why should it be any different with Bonds? He committed the same offense. You know, a lot of kids saw him as a role model. You have no problem with kids emulating him by taking steroids? In a way, that makes Bonds even worse than Libby.

Yes, some baseball player taking steroids and lying about it is worse then subverting democracy. And why? Because of the children!!

It makes me sick that you can vote.

Any time a person lies to a court, whether it is Libby or Bonds, he is attempting to subvert the law. Too bad you are a partisan who cannot see that. And yes, I DO vote, and I could care less about how sick it makes you.

Thanks alot Barry Bonds. You have ruined my morning routine now, because I will not be able to watch sportscenter in the morning when I wake up, because the entire damn show is going to be devoted to your case. I am so sick of this damn story, and I don't want to hear about it. Try him, convict him if he's guilty, but please for the love of god lets just stop talking about this as if it is earth shattering news. This is the Never Ending Story of sports. Wheres that big looking dragon/dog thingy when you need it??

Maybe Bonds and OJ can share a prison cell. What a story that would be.

Are you seriously equating the two? Do you really believe that it's partisan of me to think that the behavior of high members of the executive branch is just slightly more important than that of an athlete? Do you still think Iraq had a connection with 9/11?

I guess it's kind of like the Bush administration saying that, unlike some nations, and bad people, we only torture a little. When someone commits perjury and obstruction of justice, he needs to answer for it, whether it is Libby or Bonds. I am not going to give Bonds a break, especially since he is a role model.

What about a former president who committed perjury?

What does Ronald Reagan have to do with this?

Actually, Reagan told the truth. Against the advise of his people, he got on national TV, personally took responsibility for Iran-Contra, and apologized to the American people. You must be talking about either Clinton or Bush.

Haven't you heard of Reaganitis? It's primary symtoms is the subject repeatedly says, "I can't recall." Recently Alberto Gonzales suffered this affliction.

And no, I am not making light of Reagan's Alzheimer's. Unless you want to debate whether or not he had it while in office.

The only recent president I am aware of who committed perjury has the surname of Clinton, not Reagan.

Alzheimer's got the better of him on that Iran Contra deal.
