I've been saying that one reason for the invasion was oil. It was met with responses like, "well how come the price of gas is so high" and "we are teh crap for stealing their oil."

There is an Irony in what Bush has said. He claims that Iran is out bring about Armageddon for Islam. Now, all he needs to do is hire "curveball" again, make up a bunch of phony data, and oil la, he can bring about Armageddon for Christianity.

Bush = Ahmadinejad = religious wackjob.

We're there, let's just clean house and make the middle east a nice-n-tidy extension of us.

I mean, the democrats aren't going to do anything, like defund the war, or troop withdrawal. Sure, Harry Reid will squawk a bit, Kennedy will proclaim it another "quagmire", Ron Paul will have an anurism, the far left will have a rally, then a gay pride parade, the rest of us will be shocked initially, then we'll check our messages, grab some fast food, and go about our normal business...

I say nuke Iran, look at how Japan rose up out of the ashes, a strong economic allie for us.

Nope.

I'm hoping the rest of the world will get behind the need to impose severe economic sanctions on Iran to help convince them that proceeding with their nuclear plans is NOT the way to go.

The fact is that if they get nuclear weapons there will be war and it won't matter who fires the first shot.

Their actual development/possession of a nuke will, in effect, be that first shot.

It will be Iran who starts it by continuing their present course.

I hope I would be wrong but I doubt the consequences would be as rosy as you make them out to be.
