Stereotypes are usually true.
Maybe we do need Ivy Leaguers in the millitary, then maybe we wouldn't lose all the time. | I bet you throw like a girl as well. |

If saying that the average millitary person is as intelectual as the average fireman or cop (which i continue to stand by) is so outrageous, I'd ask you guys why you think cops and fireman are stupid. |

(Yale College has not restricted the activities of military recruiters.) ....
For five years, Yale Law School has fought to restrict military recruiters from its job fairs because of the Pentagon’s policy that bars openly gay or bisexual people from the military. ...
After an appeals court ruled in favor of the Defense Department on Sept. 17, the law school said it would allow recruiters from the Air Force and Navy to participate in a university-sponsored job interview program for law students on Monday afternoon. ...
Since 1978, Yale Law School has required recruiters to sign a pledge of nondiscrimination...
But in 2002, the federal government threatened to withhold the millions it grants to Yale every year, mostly for medical and scientific research, if the law school did not accommodate the recruiters. The law school complied, but 45 members of its faculty filed suit, challenging the law as an infringement on free speech and association as well as academic freedoms. Anyway, anyone who would join the millitary will not be missed in the Ivy League. | I am curious if you understand the academic standards that football players have to meet in order to be admitted to Ivy league schools...
They're higher than most university's acceptance guidelines for the general student population, I can assure you. Most (not all, but definitely most) guys playing Ivy league football could get in to just about any school they choose- with or without football.
As for frats, and most especially legacies- stereotype away, those don't bother me so much. |

It's law schools that are the main cause of this fight, because JAG wants to participate in On Campus Interviewing, which is where >90% of law students pick the job they will take when they graduate. For years, many law schools refused to let the JAG participate in OCI because of the military's DADT policy. They would force them off campus, hold marches, chant outside the rooms where the interviews were being held, and scream at the interviewers. The ironic part is that the JAG officers conducting the interviews were for the most part
a) Alumni of that particular law school, and
b) Opponents of the DADT policy who were nonetheless required to do their jobs
I think it's pathetic to see these schools who love to tout their "public service focus" monday through thursday turn around on friday and encourage their students to denigrate and attack their own alumni who have chosen to serve in the nation's armed services. Then they have the balls to hit those same alumni up for $5,000+ donations?
